Depends.....yes they know to go in litter box like a cat, but they tend to start playing and wait too long (like a 3 yr old lol) and will go outside the box. If you are watching them tho...they walk backwards with tail straight up in the air like a skunk before they go. I had heard they are Illegal in CA which is so silly. From what I read it's due to rabies???? Ummm HELLO Vaccinations! Mine got shots just like a cat or dog until I read that more ferrets die from reaction to vaccine rather than Rabies themselves! And Paris Hilton lives in LA, which is in CA, and she has a couple ferrets Ive seen her with them on the red carpet....How does she get away with it?? Makes me mad She gets away with everything! grrrrr
