We have 72 acres of cedar bush up here in Canada & all we find are dead porcupines

because there are TONS of fishers here
They look like ferrets, but they kill all kinds of other animals (mainly horses, believe it or not). It's
gross, but they crawl into the butt & eat ALL of the insides & then exit the way they went in. So, you're literally left with just the skin, but it's all intact - kinda like a shell.
We've found MANY
empty porcupines, unfortunately. Poor little guys.
We've found a small deer, a cat

, a neighbor's donkey, & a couple wolves, too

All from fishers. My uncle also had a horse killed by a fisher.
