When we lived in Tucson Az, it could get up to 110 or hotter in the summer...in fact we would have at least 100 days of 100 degree or high temps in a row every summer. Even most air conditioning cannot handle that kind of heat so dog owners would use those gel filled cooling pads.
I have seen dogs at dog shows on them as well.
Also, keep the lights off or down, close curtains and blinds, use fans (floor type fans as well as ceiling fans for cross ventilation), make certain there is plenty of water and keep her barricaded in the coolest room or area with the cooling pad.
You might consider clipping her hair short as well.
It is wonderful you though of this ahead of time!
I would set the air at a safe temp though, maybe 76-78? You don't have to have it ice cold but you don't want heat stroke either. |
