| Question about packaging This is my first GE and this may be a silly question but...How do you package the gifts? Do you normally individually wrap each gift or just put the things in a box and mail them?? I love wrapping things up with pretty paper but I just wanted to see what the norm is!

| I haven't participated in a GE on here before but have on other boards and I've always wrapped each individual gift them put them all in one big box. I know slade would enjoy opening each of his items seperately.... he likes ripping paper!

| You can do either. I had quite a few items but wrapped most of them in tissue paper. Of course, some things are shaped oddly and too hard to wrap. But if you don't like to wrap, you can just put them all in the box. I don't think anyone minds either way! A lot of people wrap or decorate the box they send everything in too. Just have fun! |

| This is my first GE also. I think it depends what it is, for example if you had a framed sketch of your SB you would probably want to wrap that as an added extra surprise. If its clothes or toys as tjdmom said its hard if they are odd shaped, unless you really want to wrap each item in an individual box. Its more wasteful to do it that way, and keep in mind the postage costs on bigger boxes. I think I'm just going to stick with well packaged tissue paper and bubble wrap. |

| I am going to decorate the inside of my box, so I am going to get padding to go around most of the box, but items I have now arn't breakable.. not saying that I won't get any, but I really haven't been out shopping. |

| I have one item for my GE buddy that is extremely fragile so I will be bubble wrapping that and will probably have the other items with it along in the box....

| I did half and half in our first GE....I gave a shirt, and wrapped it in gift wrap, but then put the necklace around it as a decoration for the package. I filled a personalized treat jar with wrapped treats, and wrapped other gifts. Then I put all the gifts inside a personalized canvas toy box, and then sealed the shipping box around that!

| Everyone gave good ideas.....just have fun with it! I always decorate the box....I go overbroard on decorating, just because it is fun and that way, it stands out and our GE buddy knows what it is! (ha) We also wrap most items in tissue paper, some items aren't wrapped though. It just depends. I also make sure I label things too...like if I bought stuff for "mom" those are all in a separate bag (labeled for her) and if there is a furbrother/sister, I might do a little something for them too - and those are wrapped and labeled. I mail in a sturdy box and do delivery confirmation/tracking (which I think you have to - I think that is in the rules). Don't forget a card.....that way your GE buddy knows who you are!!!

| It is entirely up to you. Just relax and have fun! I generally wrap each item individually -- once I even posted a picture of all the gift wrapped gifts and posted it as a teaser |

| Does anyone know if there are postal rules about decorating the outside of the box? I would hate to have it sent back because I got carried away!!!

| I think as long as the shipping label is easily visible, you shold be ok. The following link is directly from the post office on how to prepare your package. http://www.usps.com/send/preparemail...ngpackages.htm |
