| GE Helpful Info I know there are some people on here that want NOTHIGN from China in there GE box. But there are a few ppl that don't mind if they get plush toys that are made in China. So if you are going to participate in the GE please say whether you would like toys, treats, clothing or anything from China, or nothing at all. Hopefully this can help us do some shopping I don't want any food. I don't mind clothing or plush toys. |

| I wouldn't want any treats from China, but I'm really picky about Lacy's food and treats. Her treats have to be grain-free. I usually give her dried pork liver or chicken jerky or something like that. I would't care if the plush toys were from china. She has a ton of toys right now from China. And even the ones made in the US might have had materials that come from China. I think everything comes from China anyway - a lot of clothes, fabrics, etc. You just can't avoid it. The only thing I'm really picky about is treats.

| Knowing the general concern about products made in China, I plan to avoid them entirely when shopping this time around, if I know about them!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | In the spirit of the GE we are open to anything our buddy wants to share with us. I doubt that anyone will buy painted rubber things and everything else will be fine. Can't wait for the upcoming GE.

| ^^^^I agree. Anything we get we will be happy with. Just no painted rubber toy. Stuffed/fabric toys are just fine with us. As far as treats, I wanted to order some bully sticks, but..I just havent gotten around to it yet. So turbo would love to try one of them!

| We love most things pink!!! Toys - the durable, canvas-made toys ((they're harder to tear apart)),, Daisy especially LOVEs pretty pink dresses...okay, a little white is okay too. Treats we could do without..seems her tummy is a very weak one. We do like bully sticks!

| We would prefer not to have any toys with paint on from china. TBH I don't really feed them any commercial treats as i'm really paranoid about them, I usually make my own. However most of all Indy and me will appreciate anything our buddy takes the time to send us |

I just had this "china" debate with friends at a scrapbooking party the other night. We all agreed that there is really no way around NOT getting items from China..... My husband and Dad ran into this with ordering parts or tools for their cars. I remember one atv (4 wheeler) we bought was "made in US", but most of its parts were from China. There was a show on the education station awhile back about a family who tried to go one year without buying anything from overseas (not just China), as they wanted to support the US and try to buy all they could from their state and if not from their state, atleast from the US.....needless to say, they did without a lot of things and this "experiment" didn't even last a year. I know it is all scary, but I think the main concern is (1) FOOD - I will not feed anything from China to Mojo or Lily Grace (plus, I am very picky about what they eat and thankfully (I guess), they are picky eaters). (2) LEAD - which has been found in the painted toys, etc. I don't feel, at this time, that clothing or plush toys are affected by this (but thankfully, Mojo and Lily do NOT like nor will play with vinyl or plastic or rubber toys - I tell you, they are picky little dogs). ....if our dog plush toys and clothing were contaminated with lead, then our (human) clothing and plush items from China would be too......are we all going to stop buying clothing from China and plush items for us too? Okay, JMO..........but, I will continue to add to our GE lists: no greenies or rawhides Only healthy foods/treats (normally I list what they like) no vinyl, rubber, plastic toys (only plush) no tennis balls And as always, we have always appreciated EVERYTHING we have ever gotten from our GE's!!!

| We would prefer not to have any rubber, vinyl, or plastic toys or any treats from China. Maddie doesn't like treats anyway, and Wesley is very picky about his. Other than that, we will be happy with anything we receive. Also, I don't allow Wes or Maddie to have rawhide or greenies. |

| I'm concerned as this will be my first GE and I have already purchased several items..and now in checking them over it seems that alot of them are made in china....luckily thought none of them are painted or plastic...they are mostly fabric....

| Superstarkba... This was a great thread idea!! I was just wondering about this being this is going to be my first GE (admin just got my donation today! ) How do people feel about homemade treats? I know some say that their dog doesn't like any treats, but the ones that say treats are allowed. I pride myself in making homemade treats for Beau so that I know EXACTLY what went into them. Beau and I will love every gift he gets, but for safety reasons he is not allowed to have painted toys from China or the rubber toys that are chewed apart easily. I can't wait for the gift exchange. I know that it says there is a $20 limit but how much do most people spend? I can see myself going spend crazy...but just in case, since I don't want to be one of those people who under buy for my person.
