| Gift idea questions?? This will be our first gift exchange, and I have wondered about a couple of things. I feel safe asking this since the buddies have not yet been assigned. What do you think about sending a state or area-specific gift? For example, I saw some cute Texas print fleece the other day, and it got me thinking. If my buddy is from another state or country, wouldn't that be cute to get a blanket or little pillow from Texas? Or a little doggie "Hook 'em Horns" (University of Texas) T-shirt? Also, is it okay to have a "partner in crime" to help with the gift exchange? What I mean is maybe I want to order something from a vendor that person likes here on YT...can we let that person in on the secret so we don't duplicate something that yorkie already has? More now.. LOL What about buying several smaller things and shipping those out along with a credit at an online store or a donation in your buddies name to yorkie rescue or the ASPCA, or a note saying a personalized gift will be shipped straight to them from the vendor? Wow, sorry! That's a lot for one thread! LOL

| That all sounds good! I think Marci answered all your questions. I know that people have ordered from YT vendors in the past exchanges, so I am sure that works out well. Have fun on your first GE!!!!

| There have been lots of "partners in crime" with YT vendors making things specific for GE buddies. You just need to get your order in right away so you don't miss the deadline for mailing!! Area specific items are a great idea as well. I like the donation idea and others have also purchased goft certificates. Have fun shopping!!!!! We can't wait to get our buddy's name so we can finish up.....

| Great Minds...Yadda Yadda Ya Seems we were thinking on the same lines there with the "area specific" idea! I have a few items that I always give to out-of-state folks...been doing it since my daughter was in pageants in the mid 1980s. They have always been well received! I would also love to get something from another area, especially another country! WOW! I can't wait either...my list of items is getting longer and longer. Hubby saw it and wanted to know if all that was for Emmy and Oscar. LOL, I told him no, none of it was!

| Horns Don't know how well that there Hook 'em Horns shirt would go over, though...unless we could send you an Ole Miss Rebel and a MSU Bulldog shirt! My hubby would DIE if he saw either of ours in a longhorn shirt. He is a die-hard rebel fan...my daughter just graduated from there in May AND my son and I are die-hard bulldogs fans...both of us graduated from Mississippi State!

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | those are all great ideas!! Also lots of personal touches i think are fun and it's fun to be interactive with your buddy lol (even though they don't know who you are) I drove Omega my last secret buddy batty lol but i think she enjoyed it when she finally found out lol. I did a lot of personal things last time i made a DVD slide show of her babies and made some pictures and put them in frames for her. Vendors here are great to order from they keep your secret and it's fun for us to lol. Just really make sure you tell them that your order is for the gift exchange so they know exactly when it has to be out. Good luck in your exchange and remeber HAVE FUN WITH IT!!
