| First GE and worried This is our first GE....I am just worried we won't buy enough for our SB. When I looked back at the smile boxes from previous GE's...WOW!!! Some went above and beyond! I don't want our SB to be disappointed. I'm trying really hard to be creative and find things I think they will like and be pround to get.

| I thought the same thing for our first GE. A good SB loves anything and everything you give them. It's not supposed be stressful. It's fun. Any gift you give is special and from the heart. That's what matters the most. Not who spends the most or gets the most teasers etc. Just have fun and hammer will love anything you get him |

| I fretted about that too my first time. I could see some looked like they had spent a couple hundred dollars! But many buy all year and find huge bargains to augment the package. I thought about my gift boxes and what meant the most.....they were the little cretaive touches, the personal things, the handmade items. I got things like custom made labels they printed themself, a pesonalized bow box, a hand-made personalized leash hangar, even the boxes themselves stand out in my mind -- decorated with pics of my Ben or pawprints.....heartfelt notes really stay with me too. So don't worry so much about spending a lot or including a zillion items -- just put a little heart into it and you will make someone happy!

| Glad you added that Linda -- I didn't mean to make it sound like you needed to make something. I just meant some of the simple handmade things meant a lot. I also loved the notes they took the time to write, the toys, the clothes, the wrapping paper, the surprise! I loved it all. I know it was for my pups but I got a much bigger kick out of than even they did. And all of mine loved opening the boxes! Give them a box with some paper to tear up and they are all happy campers.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I am a little worried too, when looking at the older smileboxes I know what you mean. Some of those boxes are AMAZING. But as my buddy dosnt live in the same country as me then I have to think about the weight of the box or I will end up spending lots on postage. Im trying to buy light items at the moment, but I really hope my buddy isnt dissapointed. The things I have bought I would love to receive for Poppy, and Poppy owns many of the same things which I have bought for her SB. So fingers crossed our buddy likes it...

| I can also relate to how you are feeling. This is our first GE also. I just want Princess's buddy to feel "spoiled" and love everything we send. I have been buying things for several months for this first exchange. Now that we know who has been chosen for Princess to send gifts to, we can now personalize a bit more. This is fun! I am having fun thinking of what to give and then go shopping! And I do LOVE to shop!!!! LOL!!!! |

| it's always the thought that counts. i get creative and make really nice projects for my buddy from stuff i have around the house. i buy a very inexpensive box or basket to put things in. make blankets from scraps of fabrics. make personalized albums from scrapbook stuff i find, i shop the clearance sections at walmart, target, and petsmart or the dollar store for toys and clothes. i splurge a bit on treats since i like giving hollistic stuff for that, but most of the other stuff i fill it up with lots of bargains that are all wonderful and brand new. anything is great to get and i like to fill up the box full to the top with wonderful inexpensive gifts mostly all home made or ordered from YT from member stores. |
