| Explain the GE? Tell me is this how it works, as i recieved a message from addmin and this is how i read it. I live in England and if i get someone in the USA i will NOT be reimbursed for postage. But if someone in the USA gets me in England they WILL get reimbursed? Explain that to me because that seems a little unfair! I am a little confused?

| I can only guess, but it sounds like the GE is USA based. From what I read it seems that YT will reimburse someone living in the USA if they have to ship to England but will not reimburse you if you have to ship to USA. Keep in mind that sending a GE package from England----> USA could cost anywhere from $20 - $50 US Dollars. Definitely contact Admin as this needs to be explained to everyone in more detail.

| Yes i contacted admin. Think its unfair i have to pay $20 before i enter GE for someones postage from USA to me but if i get someone from USA it will cost me 10+ (pounds) to post to USA so really it could cost me 30pounds just for postage on the GE, thats before i buy the presents, so unfair because i aint rich.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Admin sent me the same message and I paid the $20 because I really want to be in the GE but I agree it seems unfair that someone from the USA will be reimbursed if they get a UK buddy but I wont be reimbursed if I get a USA buddy Im confused. About the UK only gift exchange nothing really has come of it, I noticed there was an old thread about it from a few years ago and they were told if they could get 5 members I think from the UK who would take part they would consider it.. and they had more then 5 willing to take part but nothing has come of it. I think its good how people from all over the world can take part because they may have things in their country that we cant get at home or whatever. But Im still confused over the whole $20 thing...

| I suppose it doesn't make sense, and I also imagine it will cost YT a fortune to reimburse everyone. Just a side note: for me to send a 10 pound package from the USA to the UK priority mail, it costs me $52. I imagine if I sent it First Class it would probably cost about $30 or more, but will take at minimum 2 weeks to get there.

| I just checked - a package weighing 3kg to be shipped at the cheapest rate from England to the USA (and no tracking available on that price) is from £41.79 which today is $66.42 So it really is expensive to ship from the UK to the USA. But if the package weighs 2kg or less, the price is £23.37 which is $37.14 today. 2kg is 4.4lbs

| I don't think you should feel bad! I would love to get you for the GE. But I do think this needs to be addressed somehow.

I just feel really guilty because I am going into this GE fully expecting to get an american buddy and I am prepared for the postage costs. But I feel bad for who ever gets me because they probably wont be expecting it and will probably feel they have drawn the short straw.

| I'm sorry...I honestly wasn't trying to make you feel bad!! It certainly isn't your fault that shipping is expensive.

Because Im so excited for the GE and it will be our first, and I want our buddy to be excited too. But I know in my heart that they will be a bit dissapointed when they see they have someone from so far away.
