| New Style Bow for dresses- Opinions? I keep tweaking this pattern, lol. This time I redid the bow because the bows I've been doing end up being kind of heavy (thick) and I don't really like how they drape/lay on the dresses I've made so far. So I had an idea last night and came up with a lighter weight and a bit fancier bow. The old style bow has piping all around it and the middle part always ties a bit crooked. The New style bow has no piping and ties more evenly and drapes better (I think) I'd appreciate any opinions/recommendations/suggestions... That's part of my dilemma... I think I'll try a lighter weight material for piping around the new bow! I really like the effect of the contrasting colors/prints. Thanks for your input!

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | They both look nice but I actually like it better without the piping simply because you can see the bow and not focus so much on the piping around the edges. Plus I would imagine that it would take less time and much easier to make.

| I should have looked at them together from the beginning lol! It's hard to get good points with the piping. I agree with you Thanks again, Dawn.

| Those dresses are beautiful, but I do like the new style bow without the piping better. I also love using contrasting fabric, but since you are already doing on the dress it's not necessary on the bow. Another option is to make a bow out of a rectangular piece of fabric then gather it in the center and sew it tight on your machine, then you can just cover the center area with a piece of fabric, this way the knot is not so bulky as when you tie a bow.
