| Patterns Please!! So, I love to sew. Being so tall, I've always had to sew anything that was "trendy" at the time during junior high and high school. Well, I had the opportunity to sew my SB last time a bed and doggy pj's and had a ball doing it! Since I know all you Yorkie ladies are all so talented, any chance you want to share your sewing secrets? I'd love to find some patterns to make Gizmo some vests, because I know I wouldn't be able to trust myself doing it free hand. Goodness knows an adorable Yorkie boy can never have too many cute vests!!!

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Check out the master pattern thread sticky at the top of the fashion forum. I love Simplicity patterns. They just come easier to me. I also love the downloadable patterns from miss daisy designs. You can find her online and linked up in the aforementioned thread. There are links to freebies in there too. Ooooh, also this weekend Joann has a memorial day sale where you can get 5 patterns for $5. It's the simplicity ones. Hobby lobby runs good sales too. I've found a lot of patterns online pretty reasonable too. I like searching on eBay, etsy, art fire, and bonanza. Happy Sewing and do share your creations with us.

Also another tip I always adhere to, always make a mock up in a cheap test fabric similar to the final fabric you will use. Sew it up and do a fitting. You will always see places where you can improve the pattern.

I always added fabric, I'm afraid to remove it. I'm a big (cheap) baby, I know! But that's a good idea as well.

| don't be afraid to cut! Use muslin, it's very inexpensive and is very similar to to the fabrics most people use on dogs. They come in many different widths and thicknesses. You will start to see how a little trimming changes the fit a lot, for the better or the worse! It's fun, taking a flat piece of fabric and turning it into something 3D, like a sculpture.
