| Desing idea for Harness Vest Since so many of you sew I was wondering what you thought of my idea. I need an easy on/off harness for Lola when she goes out to potty, I have arthritis in my hands so I don't like dealing with clips and hooks a bunch of times a day. Currently we use a velcro harness that looks like the top of a lot of the dresses you make. Mu current harness like the dresses have the velcro under the neck and the chest. Lola has lots of hair so it tends to get gets stuck and some times she pulls, so eventually the velcro seems to pull away from the fabric and get plugged with her hair. On occasion after thinking I strapped her in securely part of the harness will come loose. This of course worries me. My thoughts are if the velcro was on the top of the harness it would be easier to put on and last longer. Putting the velcro on the top of the neck, should be easy but on the chest part there would have to be a slit on the top layer that you could slide over the ring that would be attached to the bottom layer. I also think there would need to be velcro strips below the ring. Do you think this design is feasible? If so I would love a few made that I would pay for thanks Donna

| Yes, that sounds very do-able. I know what you mean about the velcro and the chest hair, lol.

| You know, I think it could be done in a harness vest designed with the velcro up on the back with the D-ring in the middle of wide velcro....just like it done in the choke free harness. Have you seen one of those? I think that would work....anyone else think it would.

| Would you prefer (and your dog prefer) that it slip over the head... that would eliminate one closure. I'll make one or two to test them out ... I have some other ideas too, but I want to see how they'll work out first. If you like it , then I'll make you one, or two....

| KJC yes slip over the head would even be easier, great idea but it would have to be a pretty good fit but yet slip over the head Perrella for walking I use a harness similiar to what I think you are talking about it has a velcro back closure, then a buckle and a d ring on each side of the vest that comes together when you close everything up. It is a great design and very secure for walking so I am looking for a modified version of that that has one d ring and no buckles. I know it sounds weird but she goes in and out a lot and I keep the tie out cord attached to her potty harness so the quicker and easier the better. Thanks guys i knew you would have some ideas. LOL I tried the harness inside out but the fit was not right.

| : PuppiaUS.com : This is the type I have that I would like a version of with velcro in the back by no clips. the step in harness is interesting I don't belive I have seen that style before. For some reason I like the idea of a vest. Has anyone tried the leather step in one, what are the buckles like.

| ok I just looked at that pink leather harness again, what I was thinking of was similar but more of a vest where the top strap goes higher up on the chest to just below the neck.

| This would be her serious harness, not for prancing around the street, so something very serviceable don't laugh since I don't know material but I am thinking some like a canvas, sunbrella, type of fabric, no embelshiments just sturdy, double seamed, etc. not sure the slip over the head would work, tried it with the harness tonght and it did not come off easy. if the neck fabric had a stretch that might work
