| Hair fashion (cuts to be exact) Ok, I am posting here because I like to consider myself a tad fashion forward, meaning I love fashion, not necessarily knowing enough about it, Lol. I think hair says a lot about a person, uh I mean pup. This being said I need some hair advice for Pita's unruly cotton coat. I made her very 1st professional grooming appt for next saturday without really knowing what to do. Any ideas from those 'special' and oooooh so lovely cotton-coated mommys? Anyone with a puppy cut cotton coat, with a longer face....me need much much help! |

| I have found some pics of YT of cotton coats and different cuts you can get. Now all of the pups in these pics have a super thick coat, Pita's is not thick at all....is it possible for her to have a cross between the two? |

| Gracie Ruth has the cotton coat. I sooooo wish I could let it grow out because her color is gorgeous! I keep her body and the top half of her legs cut short. I like her face short too. But I keep her pony long and the lower half of her legs long and a little bit of a tail. She had just had a cut before this picture. So this is a pretty good idea IMG_2670 - cropped-2.JPG The Cheerleader-flipped.JPG She was needing a hair cut in this pic. But it was just too cute not to include 5.JPG

| I cut my lola similar to that. I don't have as much time as I did when she was a pup for brushing (I had to start working 40+ hours a week after mom died) so I keep her hair short all the way around now. I used to cut her with a puppy face, keeping her pony, short on the body with a "skirt". Kinda like a schnauzer cut. Feathering on the legs but not too long and leaving the hair on her tail. I miss those cute haircuts, now she looks like a butchy boy, but its SOOOO cute!

| Well I learned something today..here I thought a "cotton coat" meant that the fur/hair is white...how does one know what kind of coat your pup has? Bobbi

| Sophia has a curly cotton coat. I've done a puppy cut in the past, but I don't like it as much as when her head hair is long. Now I cut her body short, leave some hair on legs and tail, and let the head hair grow as long as I want. I love it! It is really easy to keep up on too! Here is a link to her album where you can see lots of different cuts on her: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/alb...?albumid=11532

| Cotton coats are very fluffy, most of the time curly/wavy and they mat very easily...they also do not have much shine to them....you have your work cut out for you if you have a cotton coated baby! The silky coat lays straight and is very smooth and shiny. |
