YT Addict | Easy Sweaters for Tiny Yorkies Miss Lula is 3 1/2 pounds. She is 2 years old so she now has a full grown yorkie body. At first it was easy to just buy the xxs sweater or jacket but now that she is full grown she has a longer body than she did as a puppy. Regular xs sweaters/jackets fit like belly shirts and really don’t do the best job at keeping her whole body warm. I decided to knit her a sweater... and realized I cant knit to save my life. One day, when she was a puppy I cut some holes in a sock and shoved her in it for a good laugh. Thinking back on that I realized that I didn’t need to do the work... I can just cut stuff up that someone else already made. Since its starting to get cold out again I plan to make a couple sweaters this weekend and decided to share how I make them for those who also have trouble finding small warm sweaters for their tiny yorkies. I take either one of my old sweaters or go to a 1$ bin at a thrift store and look for a sweater with a lot of stretch and a pretty cuff. I then cut off the sleeves (two sleeves, two sweaters!). The sleeves are the body of the sweater. The cuff will be the neck of the sweater. I put Miss Lula in the sleeve and mark where her little legs need to poke out and where the sweater needs to end at the bottom. I cut little holes in the body of the sweater for her legs and trim off the back. This will do if you are looking for a really simple warm sweater that fits a tiny longer dog... but if you are feeling ambitious.... ...then cut off the bottom trim off the sweater. Roll and sew (I do this by hand) into tubes that will work as sleeves. Then sew them into the body of the sweater where you cut holes for the legs BOOM Fancy yorkie sweater! The attached photos are of Lula modeling her Vintage Cougar on the Prowl sweater and her Coffee Shop Diary Black sweater.

I am not very crafty myself, thats why this one is good for anyone looking for a fast, cheap and easy sweater. I cant justify buying $40 sweaters for my dog to simply keep warm that dont even fit her. I'll post pictures of the ones I hopfully make today... I'm going to try to make a chanel-looking sweater

| There's actually a video on this on YT. It's so cute! It had these little chihuahuas wearing the toe part as little beanie. let's see if I can find it.

| Those are so cute & clever, not to mention such a sweet little model. When my girl was a pup I bought these super soft leg warmers & used them as a tube dress to warm her at night. I think that took all my sewing talent up.
