| Hi I am new here and getting a Yorkie on Sat Hi I didnt see an Intro forum but I a new here and will get my first ever Yorkie this weekend. While I wanted the typical Steel Blue and Tan I am getting one from a very reputable breeder whose litter had one Black and tan with some blue among the black. I find him gorgeous with a dash of white also. Which is exactly the color markings I wanted as he will only be a Pet to a loving home. I dont care to breed or show. He is lovely to me. I was just wondering what is the big thing about the color if you are not showing. I honestly think the darker shades are prettier than those light silver colors. While I also know the AKC standards, I dont care for them. Sometimes the AKC penalizes really beautiful dogs for the slightest of reasons. This dog is coming from a history of Champions in his pedigree and t me he is just wonderful. I am getting him at 3.8 months old because I didnt want an infant dog and really wanted the lady to keep him until now which she did. I would rather not disclose the breeder's name please. |

| Well welcome aboard. I am glad you found the traits you were looking for in a yorkie. As long as you are happy... There are many shapes, sizes & color variations of yorkies on here- we like to keep it interesting And when you have a concern plenty are here to help. Have you chose a name? food? vet? I just got my second yorkie & am having fun with that. I also like skipping the puppy phase but he is only 11wks old & full of puppy , lol. I got Tilula when she was 11months old so its a big change. Do you have any other pets? Give him lots of attention so he doesnt get depressed. welcome welcome welcome |

| Thanks everyone. Wow a nice warm welcome. Yes, it does not matter the color really, as long as the dog is healthy that is my primary concern. I love the name scoobydo but I spelt my screen name wrong lol, hopefully an admin can correct the error, cuz it should have been scoobydo. I always wanted a scoobydo Vet is my current vet as I own another dog. Food will be homecooked as I dont like anythign commercial, I may give some kibble Royal Canin or Eukabuna on the side but dont really plan to raise them on commercial. I make an awesome meat carbo and vege dish that goes a long way and is very nutritious. I also give a liquid multi vitamin, a vitB if the appetite is bad and cod liver old for the coat of my other puppy. I give raw meat bones for the teeth and slabs of raw green tripe for chewing exercises which he loves , stinks like hell but oh well. Spoiling in my home is an order. This one I have now literally sits on both of my feet so I cant move LOL . And running away to even go to the doc or a quick trip to the grocery is like I died. Talk about separation anxiety, jeeze. I hope number two helps with this. I am looking forward to learning about this delightful dog and get as many tips as possible. My current dog was extremely to house break and also train in many things obedience related at an early age. So I a hoping for a similar luck with mr. scoobydo I will resize the pics and post some now ok he is giong to be very furry which I think I will like as I love grooming and coming them Last edited by soccbydo; 10-16-2007 at 03:11 AM. |

| Welcome to YT. He does look a little like a parti with the white in his fur, but he is surely beautiful.

| You're pup is a pup and beautiful....he'll go through many changes the top of his head will clear and turn to a wonderful shade of gold. The black, should change and become a dark steel blue...These yorkies continue to change up until the age of 2 or 3.... By the way obtaining your pup at 3.8 months is the correct age to obtain your pup....anything younger than 3 months of age is unacceptable and not in the best interest of the pup.

Thanks. His both parents are the standard dark steel blue and tan and are b oth champions, and their parents are also same color and great grnads same color. Some puppies are born like this and change as they get older, what you see now is not always what you get . i am dealing right now with change of color of my current puppy, he was so dark and now is becoming orange with black lumps all over in some places but even that is lightening. So who knows, regardless of that, who cares what color he turns out to be. I wish he would remain multiple colors | |
