| You could take a dice and toss it to see how many. The number it lands on is how many pups she will have. This works for me! No just kidding. LOL No one knows this. It is just something you have to wait and see. Good luck! T. |

| I used to think that the female determines how many pups there will be (I guess based on the number of eggs)... and the male determines the sex... but after mating my Lucy with my Rocky many times the number has changed... she used to have 4, even 5 in a litter... then she had 2 (less eggs??... getting old??)... I mated her with my Butch this time and she had 3. So who knows?????

| i do think the female determines the amount of puppies. i think each litter can be different. i have seen many times on here where the bitch has whelped differently each time. i can tell you this.....i hope i explain it correctly the bitch is fertile for approx 5 days during this time, she can drop approx 200 eggs the sperm will travel up to the eggs then the eggs come down and attach themselves to the wall of the uterus depending on how many attach themselves to the wall then this will be litter the rest is then absorb in the body ** i am sure someone else could explain this better than me i hope this helps somewhat

| litters I sure can't explain it...some have had one, then got 4 to 6 the next litter... others had one and rebred they had one again...I couldn't see what I did differently at all...so I think it is that dice thing. |
