Default kandy's babies at five weeeks.

my little darlings are five weeks old today. They change from day to day. ears are in the stage of going up and down. it looks like I have theem in a box but actually, I had to line the inside of the x-pen because the little stinkers were poking their heads thru the holes. Now, they have figured out how to get to the top of the box liner and poke heads thru. don't know what i am going to have to do to keep them from hanging themselves. they are something else. I think I am keeping the smallest. She is the troublemaker in the bunch. A lot of spunk. Most of them have their daddy's little button nose and I just love that. Dogs really do look like their parents. i see ceeby in at least three of the girls. They have the same facial features.

Those are some seriously cute puppies! I bet you will have people lined up wanting them! I have reached my household limit (two Yorkies, one Jack Russell and one Dachshund), or I might be first in line!

Thanks, I think mama is just about done. She was in and out of the pen all day yesterday. i kept checking her and the babies and if it looked like they were trying to nurse, I got in the pen and made her lay down and stayed in there till they fell asleep. i am feeding them twice a day with the rice, karo and esbilac. They are growing. My smallest one is now 15 ounces. she does much better feeding them at night. I always 'tuck" all the dogs in about nine. Lights out and tv off. I never hear another sound till six in the morning except this mama dog. She wakes me about three times a night to go potty. One of the babies got it's head hung a couple of nights ago, hence the box liner but they have figured that out now. BTW, the dry food in the picture is mama's. They crawl in it and make such a mess.

i hope i have people lined up. A couple of people from here have contacted me but under the new rules we can't advertise yet. I think at six or eight weeks, I am going to post in my local paper. of course they won't leave until twelve weeks. A slim chance I might let them go at ten. kandy is just about done with them. She has never been a great mommy.

Glad everything's working out better. Supplementing them is probably the best thing for mom. I know we all fret over the least little thing and I try to remember that when I'm calm and relaxed, so is mom.

I try to stay calm, keep my voice low and give mama lots of attention but inside i am secretly aggravated at her.LOL She can't help it tho. She has had other litters. two I think but i don't know how she did with those. I was told she was a good mama but compared to Silk, she isn't. Silk wouldn't leave her baby's side except to potty until it left here at about thriteen weeks.

Each litter is different. Even with the same mom and sire. Just when you think you've got it down, they throw you for another loop. As long as puppies are eating well, gaining and not going down on you, I think you're doing fine.

She might be done with the nursing part....but, she still has alot of training to do with them.....teaching them how to behave, play fight, etc. My mom's have piddle pad trained their babies. When they've had their 1st set of shots and sea legs....I put them all in the kitchen part of the day, with food, water, beds and piddle pads.

That's what I plan on doing when they are about or seven weeks old. They are really tiny tho. As far as mom teaching them to fight, they are doing pretty good on their own. LOL
