| HELP! How much to feed a 8wk pup wet food This is my first time ever seeing a pup. My mom and I have no idea about how much wet food we should feed them. We don't want to over feed them and then they still go drink milk after. How much is enough wet food for them? Please let me know. Thank you In Advance! Xoxo TexasDogLover Xoxo |

| Is this a pup you have purchased? 8 weeks is young so you do want to be sure the pup is eating often to avoid hypoglycemia. I know there are multiple breeders here that I'm sure will come along with better advice. There are a lot of resources here and I'm sure you are learning to navigate the forum but there are stickies (information notes) on the main page that are full of great information.

You say this is the first time ever SEEING a puppy????!!!!! You really do need to let someone that knows about puppies, try to pull these babies thru....there is no way you can over feed a puppy....you are worried about something that is not an issue....you need to be worried about what kind of food they are getting.....they should still be nursing from their momma, and supplementing their nursing time with high quality puppy food, designed specifically for puppies....."overfeeding" a puppy is the least of your problems!

Excuse me for asking a question. I will take my question elsewhere so I don't get such rude responses. That's why they always say no question is a dumb question. Goodnight and goodbye. Stay blessed.

What do you mean when you say "them" -- do you mean you have a litter of pups you're taking care of ? Or do you mean you have 1 pup that you got from a breeder? To start off, use this feeding calculator for approximating how much to feed, but then feed to body condition: http://natureslogic.com/dogs-feeding-chart/

| I will be feeding Scooby Iams puppy food when I bring him home as this is what the breeder reccomended and what he is being fed on at the minute, however I think I'm going to change him to a better puppy food once he is properly settled. Usually you can tell from the ingredients list on the back, there's also a link that someone posted on here before where you can read up on lots of the different dog foods and it gives you the pros and cons of each one. I can't remember the link, sorry, but sure someone on here will know which one I mean! |

This is exactly why it would probably be a positive outcome for this site if there was a way that an age limit could be placed on participating in the forum. Children are just not emotionally mature enough to read a response that does not criticized but instructs what needed to be done to resolve an issue someone that, by their own admission, is totally and completely clueless about puppies, "first time ever seeing a pup", by your own admission!!! And then you are going to squall and boo hoo and criticize a totally legitimate, informative, correct response you receive???? I am sorry but you need to grow up emotionally if you are going to communicate with adults! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 11-28-2015 at 11:34 AM.
