| Hoping to find some support Hello, I'm new to this forum and was hoping to find some support. I just bought a yorkie Sunday evening. I was told he was 10 weeks old however when I went to pick him up he clearly was way younger. The lady who was selling him was adamant that he was 10 weeks. Knowing he was going to be sold regardless I bought him. I took him to the vet the very next day and found out he was more like 4 weeks. I feel terrible that the seller is selling these puppies so young but happy he is with me and I can take care of him. I have him on the milk supplement about every 3-4 hours along with small portions of royal canine puppy weaning canned food. I also have given him liquid vitamins and plenty of rest...everything the vet has recommended to do. He willbe going back for a follow up in 2 weeks. Does anyone have any additional advise...other than the obvious that he shouldn't have been taken away from his mother yet. Thanks for any help. |

| Welcome to YT 4 weeks? Wow! Does he have any teeth yet? I got my ZoE at 6 weeks. She was on RC mini baby dog kibble that I moistened, and I fed her every 4 hours. Regular feeding is crucial. I'd follow your vet's advice. Congratulations on your puppy! What is his name?

| Wow, 4 weeks? That breeder is crazy. I'm sorry I have no advice, but I want to applaud you for taking such good care of the little guy. For some reason I think Oscar is an adorable name! |

| congrats on your new baby, I'm sure the person you got your baby from is a BYB, no reputable breeder would let a puppy go at 4 weeks, no teeth , they should be reported. I agree they were going to be sold. you did the right thing, I see it as saving a babies life. Follow what your vet advises as to how many times a day this sweet lil boy has to be feed, you're s great mom and this is going to be one little spoiled little boy. In the past I bought 2 unplanned pups, they went nameless for 2 months. I watch their personalities and came up with names for them. How about Skye (Sky). Google boys names, I'm sure you'll find something that will fit him perfectly. Please keep us updated on his progress, we love watching puppies grow.

| I see that you are in Texas. Welcome to YT. Poor baby just so young to be away from it's mom. Glad he has you to care for him! Last yr. I rescued a pregnant Terrier Mix and my pups while still nursing would gobble up the mom's RC puppy food at 3 weeks old. I thought they were way too young to be eating dog food and I worried about them but they were very healthy beautiful pups. The mom was on puppy formula at the advise of my vet. You might want to try a milk supplement as well but I would check with your vet first. Congrats on your new baby! Post pictures when you can!

| Thank you everyone! He's is doing really good he didn't really take well to the bottle with the milk supp. and wouldn't drink very much but would just gobble up the RC weening wet food...so I am now mixing it together just to make sure he is getting enough nutrients and have also added in liquid vitamins. He is pooping so much more now than he was when we first got him and walking around everywhere. We still haven't thought of a name but thanks again for all your kind words |

| It is illeagle to see puppies that young so you need to report her or she will just keep doing it. Also keep the pup warm and don't leave him alone.

| I'm sorry you are going through this! Mine usually get teeth at 7 or 8 weeks and find it horrible that someone would let them go so young! You've got great support here, and received some great advice. You've done well, so continue what the Vet has suggested. Good luck and Bless your heart! |

| In Texas, it is illegal to sell a puppy under 8 weeks of age. You need to report this woman, or this is how she will continue to generate her revenue. You seem to be doing well with your feeding. Be sure to moisten the mousse with little formula....the recipe for the formula I use to supplement newborns in in the breeders section....baby needs some liquid....I would call that woman and tell her I took that baby to the vet and he assures me that baby is only about 4-5 weeks old, and I am going to report her. Is your baby registered with AKC? I would get the date off the registration papers and contact AKC as well.....she is obviously falsifying registration papers. |

| NY & Pa.puppies can be sold at 8 weeks old. These ppl have to be reported for selling puppies under 8 weeks old. How many innocent little babies will die because not every one is like you, or will follow a vets advise. Please for the sake of future babies report this person for selling under 8 weeks old. No teeth poor little sweet boy, even if you paid $ for him, you really rescued him. Bless you for following your vets feeding plan and sticking with it. It's a lot of work, concern and worry for you but this baby will live because of you.

Most of the laws on the books are very specific. Only a few states have laws pertaining to "anyone" who sells a dog. Here in Michigan, we have an 8 week law, but it only applies to pet stores. Most dogs offered for sale here in local and state newspapers (both print & online) are 6-8 weeks old.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I would have to agree, this person needs to be reported to the authorities. At four weeks of age your pup should still be eating a puppy gruel which is like a malt like consistency. There are tons of recipes on line for it. I use half and half can and dry puppy food, ground up and mixed with evaporated milk. Once his teeth start coming in than introduce softened kibble. Let it soak in the evaporated milk and than smashed with a fork and the older her get you can gradually add some dry kibble.
