Senior Yorkie Talker | 14wks & changing colour hair on her head? Hi..I have a question. Hollee is now 14wks & I noticed that her hair at the root on her forhead & the top of her head is coming out silver grey? She has a lot of tan on her face eyebrows and tips of ears. Will this grey be her adult colour? My other two yorkies that have passed now, were both blond/tan on there heads so I was wondering what Hollee will be. Her mom (who the breeder said she is taking after) is very fair, blond. And her dad is a mixture of dark, tan & grey. His colouring is beautiful. Just wondering?

| Mine did that also around that age. It was so silver/light that it almost looked like he was going bald. He's now a lovely tan and grey.

| Both Abby and Ziva's hair started growing in grey/silver and stayed that way til almost 1 year when it faded to blonde and than darkened over the second year.(Abby 's is in that process now) They are so similar in color now that we have trouble telling who is running past! |

| Hot Rod was about 15/16 weeks old when we got him and he had a tiny white patch on his head that got bigger and bigger. He had a whole head of white before it turned to a beautiful pale gold. Now he's gold and black. Maggie May is tan and silver with some slivers of gold in her topknot.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Mine did that as well...they are now gold, blond and light grey at 19 and 15mths. Still waiting to see what their final colour will be. I love watching the rainbow of colours they go thru.

| Yes, this is normal...and Nancy is right, it is called breaking color...and it will go white or light silver, then change again to tan and usually progress right on through to gold. They usually settle into their color around age 3 years old. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh..Thanks for all the response. So interesting hearing all the comments. I also thought it looked like Hollee was going bald..there is hair there but the appearance looks like she is losing hair. Well I look forward to the 'Rainbow'...as these precious little doggies are so pretty/handsome and just so darn cute Ax

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey went through this too, and he had the bald look, I kept cutting off the black tips hoping that would help. Anyway, it seemed like when he was 11 months old this grey/white turned beige and has gradually gotten a little more golden, no white at all.
