| oh my gosh she looks so sweet. For first time puppy owners, obviously get as much information you can about anything puppy related but you still will probably have some issues. It's really a learning process and every puppy is different but this board is a huge source of info for anything you would need to know. Just make sure you have everything you would need before you bring her home - crate/carrier, harness, leash, food, few toys, NUTRICAL (very important), potty pads, baby wipes, brush/comb, treats especially training treats but I ended up training Geno a lot with his kibble, comfy bed, blanket, possibly a nice x-pen...see if you can get a blanket/towel/toy from the breeder to help relax her with smells from a place she is already familar with. At night, if you crate her, which I would recommend at first, put the crate somewhere nearby like next to the bed to help calm her cause the first few nights are gonna be tough, well usually. Geno cried the whole first night or two and he we had the crate in the downstairs kitchen. After a few hours, I couldn't bear to hear him so I ended up sleeping with him in the living room on the couch for like a week and a half. Finally, someone told me to put the crate in the bedroom (duh lol) and so we did and then I found myself taking him out and putting him in bed with mommy where he finally calmed down and slept. The boyfriend wasn't too pleased at first but he got used to it. Whether you want her to sleep with you or not is going to be a personal preference. The nutrical is important for hypoglycemia. Anytime you see her restless, or out of sorts, no energy, pop this gel on your fingertip and have her lick it off. Even if she is just tired, it doesn't hurt to give some just in case. Oh and something we learned was when you bathe her, be very careful not to get inside her ears wet. We tend to put cottonballs in his ears now cause he got a yeast infection in his ears when he was only a few months old. Also check the threads on here about potty training and maybe try reading a book. There's loads of information on here about potty training whether it be crate training, potty pad training, or outdoor training to help you. Excited for you! We get our second yorkie a few weeks and she's a week younger than your Zoey! Don't sweat it, you'll do great as a new puppy parent!
