Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh just call me crazy I am having the hardest time knowing I have to let the pups go - and they are jus 2.5 weeks still. How do you cope? This is her first litter. It is heart wrenching I want to just keep them all It's horrible I lied to interested buyers saying they are all already taken because I just could not handle knowing the will be sold off to strangers! Lol oh goodness Please help me cope. It's breaking my heart lol. And I cannot keep lying to these ppl lol. It's only October and they won't be leaving till Christmas time. Am I crazy or what haha. Anyway I'm sure y'all have plenty of kind words that will help get through this.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I can understand how you must feel, I would have a really hard time giving these babies up too. You just have to remember how much happiness Lewis and Manolo have brought into your life and know that these pups will do the same for their new families. Maybe give them to people who live close so you still get to see them grow?

| I understand just how you feel. In fact, my first litter went to all family and a friend. So, it was a lot easier to let them go, knowign I would continue to see them. But after that I did have to let pups go to almost strangers. I was particular. I found myself fibbing a little a couple of times that a puppy might already have a buyer, or that a family member might be taking one. In fact, I wound up keeping a male pup for months even though he was not getting along with his father -- my Ben. I just did not feel comfortable with the lady who wanted him. She would have been great by herself but had rough and rowdy boys and large dogs. I could not advertise him or even put the word out in town for fear she would find out I had not already sold him. I finally found him a home with the friend of my DIL who lives several states away. You put your whole heart into raising them for 3-4 months and then to let a stranger take off with them just seems wrong. But if you screen prospective owners well, you feel like you get to know them a bit. You can stay in contact too. The best owners will even send you picture updates from time to time. Still, I cried when the puppies I thought I might never see again left my home. I loved them all, but there were some that just stood out and left a bigger hole in my heart when they left. I had different colored collars for my litters and tried to call them by the colors "so as not to get too attached with names." HAHA! That didn't work! Green became Green Bean, which became Bean, which became my favorite little guy and the first male to go. Broke my heart! I am not helping you at all! I will tell you something to make you feel better though. I ran into a lady who had gotten one of my puppies maybe a year or so earlier. She almost got tears in her eyes telling me how it was the greatest decision she ever made, to get that little yorkie. She told me how much she loved her and what a difference she had made to her life. She was so obviously head over heels about that puppy, I felt great inside! Not only did I find a great home for my puppy, but that little puppy had made this woman's life so much happier and joy filled! What an honor to be a part of that!

| That is the number one reason why I could never be a breeder. I would soon be overrun with dogs.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have to thankyou for being that person that so cares for your puppies and sees them placed in good homes. I can't imagine doing this myself. So I thankyou from the bottom of my heart because if it weren't for the people like you I wouldn't have the sweet little girl I am sooooo in love with Personally, hearing all the horror stories of puppy mills and misstreated animals, I wanted someone to "screen" me. I wanted someone to hand me packets and books. I also wanted someone to cry when I took that puppy home. To me that is so important! I am so glad there are people like you! I know that sounds strange but I know what horrible things are out there and I wanted to know my sweet little girl was being taken care of the first few months I couldn't. Good luck to you! I am sure you will find some wonderful homes for your little ones! |
