Awwww...congrats Rose and Halle (and ofcourse Toby, too)!!

Yep, pretty much my thoughts exactly.

THANK YOU ALL, for your kind words and congratulations! It's been a joyfully sleep interrupted first couple of days, as I would wake to every little sound Halle or her pup would make and tend to their needs.....well, maybe MY need to tend to them

. Last night was much better as I only woke twice for a short while; looks like the new mama & grandma are settling in.
Halle has kind of gone off her food for some reason in the last day or so, and though my vet tells me she doesn't require quite as much in meals with just a singleton pup, I will still feel better when she starts eating regularly again. She is acting fine otherwise & has plenty of milk for the little guy.
For those of you who have not heard, we are temporarily naming the puppy Oscar..........after his "Uncle"

Lucky. We had originally thought about Oscar as a name for Lucky when we got him, but changed our minds. My daughter had always thought we should have kept it as Oscar, so at her request, we are calling the pup Lil' Oscar.

What a way to start the day for poor Lil' Oscar!
Bright and early at 8:15am we had a vet appointment to have his tail docked and dew claws removed. I couldn't bear to leave Halle at home without her pup, so she made the trip with us. They weighed her and she is down to 6lb-13 oz; seems she will have no problem getting back to her pre pregnancy weight (6lb 7oz) when she's done nursing. Dr. D said Oscar looks to be a very healthy boy.

(And Rose too!) He is beautiful! Wow, what a chubster-you did great, Halle! What an amazing puppy birth story! I'm so happy for you, Rose!

ETA: Just saw the pics on the second page...he is beautiful, and Halle is doing such a wonderful job being a mommy!
