| Yorkie Girl Hi Everyone...this is my first visit to Yorkie Talk. I am very anxious to get my yorkie, but I am so nervous about housebreaking. Also.. do any of you work all day and leave a yorkie home alone?...I don't want to have wait until I retire to get a yorkie, but don't want to come home to destroyed furniture either...any suggestions anyone?..Thank you |

| Get yourself a crate or an xpen. Thus far I have been very successful w/housebreaking both of my furbabies. Good luck and keep us posted!

| Welcome to yt. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with Murfee. He was really pretty easy to potty train.

| Welcome to you and your furbaby. The xpen is really great for keeping the furbabies safe and house in order when you're away from home.

| When i was at work i left my baby in the bathroom along with his crate with a soft blanket in the crate so he could go be comfortable and nap if he wanted to. I left a puppy pad down and a bowl of food and water. He seemed to do very very good with that. I puppy pad trained him and trained him to go outside when i was home. I had a couple accidents but not many.

| PLEASE don't just crate a Yorkie baby while you go off to work all day. Get an ex-pen or gate off a room that is puppy proof. And remember, your bathroom has a waterline going up to the commode. Good luck and when you get a Yorkie baby, you have to share pictures! |
