Pics His brother looked the same just a couple ounces bigger. The parents were very cute. Have you noticed the decrease in yorkie prices in the paper. Wonder why?

it's obvious why. they got popular and everyone jumped on the bandwagon. BYB are all over. all they know is that they have a little male and female and they want to breed them. I know that here in Ky., I am one of the few that does not let my babies go as early as six weeks. mine go at twelve weeks. I am also one of the few that even know what a bloodline is and that does testing on parents. I know I have called people in the paper inquiring since I have been searching for possibly another female. I ask the seller, 'what is the bloodline' and you know the answer I usually get is, what are you talking about or I don't know. Some of them advertise champion lines. I am very familiar with most lines having done tons of research and when I ask them what their champion lines are, they don't have a clue. They bought two little dogs and thought they would make money. everyone started doing it and the bottom has fallen out of the market. My paper had yorkies for $250. this past weekend. i took my little girl to the airport Saturday and ran into an older couple that are breeders here. They were shipping a dog also. I had to ask what kind it was. it was so huge and floppy eared, it looked like a solid color beagle instead of a yorkie. i couldn't believe it. that's what most of the yorkies around "These parts" that are in the paper look like.

Ya I figure if they are not papered & under $300 forget it. But I have seen people pay over a thousand & once the pup has grown its obviously not a nice looking yorkie. These were papered which I know doesnt always mean much, but I did see both parents. It is sickening to see some of the dams & sires people are using out there. But I am glad that there are some people in between that have found nice looking yorkies that people like me can afford, so we still have cash left for doggie clothes, food, vets etc. My eyes light up when I see awesome show quality yorkies & some are lucky enough to find them at a great price on limited AKC. Unfortunately I havent been as lucky, but none the less enjoying my pick yorkies and being a part of YT.

Rachel. Your boy is beautiful. What a great deal $500. I agree there are back yard breeders or puppymills but if this guy has Yorkies as his pets and you've seen where your boy came from that you should feel comfortable. People can get a healthy happy Yorkie at a good price if they are patient and it does not always mean that they came from a puppymill or backyard breeder. You just have to use your judgment and check the breeder out first. Show Yorkies don't always guarantee a Yorkie with good health. My vet had a Golden Retriever in that came from the best lines and had the worse hip dysplasia ever seen. Best of luck with him. Elaine

Thank you. He hops when he runs I guess thats normal for a puppy?? He walks normal when he is just walking. Did you see his little tongue sticking out? I love that but wondered if it was a bad thing. I schedule a vet appointment & will get him checked over good. Definately not a puppymill, they were in doors & the house was very clean for having all those yorkies running around. He had had all his other yorkies from pups & they were wearing pearl necklaces, etc.It was in town not much room to run a mill, lol. He mentioned his others only had to litters & got fixed. He said he normally got more $ but for some reason the pups were not moving, he didnt want to get attached, so he dropped the price & he did ask questions & was concerned that the pup were getting a good home. Thankfully the puppy hasnt seemed to miss his old family. He has wimpered in his sleep I'm not sure why, cause its all play, licks & wags when he is a wake. He weighs 2lbs at 11+wks & he is fat, he was allowed wet & dry food 24/7. I know when they are weaning they need that but after 12 weeks I think it would be ok to go to dry only?? Do you?

Oh Rachel. The tongue sticking out isn't a bad thing. That's the Yorkie Tongue. LOL. And, I know it may sound weird to some but that is one of my favorite things about the Yorkie. I LOVE when they stick their tongue out. The only Yorkie I ever had that stuck his tongue out as such a young pup was my Newman who passed away a couple of months ago and Lilly who we got a month ago at 13 weeks from rescue. She's ALWAYS got her tongue out. LOL. And, as far as the hopping when they run, that's normal. He is just being a puppy. It's good to have him checked out by your vet though. Make sure you bring a stool sample to check for parasites. Oh and in so far as food goes; Just s suggestion. I would leave out the dry food 24/7 but also feed him some wet in the morning and in the evening. My Lilly is 5 1/2 months now and weighs 2 lbs. 11 oz. I feed her and actually the rest of my crew a wet mix mixed in with dry in the morning and in the evening and I also leave out JUST dry frood 24/7. They will only eat when they are hungry. Also, keep Nutrical on hand in case of low blood sugar. Good luck. Again, he really is a good looking Yorkie. Elaine

Have your vet check his patella's. My Lexie was just diagnosed with a minor Luxating Patella on her left knee. She is 2 and has been fine up until now. She also started doing the hopping thing on her left leg. Good luck- he is a REAL cutie pie!!
