New Yorkie Talk Member I am new to this forum. I was reading some of you and thought it would be great to meet. I had a Yorkie for seventeen years whom I had to put to rest appproximately five years ago. I was discouraged on buying another Yorkie because I was told I'd be forever comparing her to the new Yorkie and so I bought a Smooth Fox Terrier, named Isabella(nickname Bella). She is precious! Now, I am in search of another Yorkie. I live in N.C. and want to know if you know a reputable breeder. I've contacted one but there is a long waiting list. Any suggestions are welcome! Looking forward to meeting you. Thanks, :Puppy: Last edited by fasteddie; 05-30-2005 at 08:53 PM.

Thanks! My name is Maria. My Smooth Fox Terrier's name is Isabella, hence the name Bella, which means beautiful in Spanish. You might know this since your pooch's name is Bella too?

I am going to see a Yorkie tomorrow. This one is CKC. I've heard of CKC, but don't know the difference. He's only 5 weeks old, so I wouldn't take delivery of him for several more weeks even if I decide to get him. This is after all my first attempt at my renewed love affair with another Yorkie. But all this excitement is wanting me to start thinking of a name. I like Kecki, and Karma so far(K's).

Maria, I just read where you said you live in Sanford. I have a Sanford address and live in Harnett county. I just bought Romeo from a lady named Marilyn....Royal Acres Kennel is her business. She's in Sampson County. I am extremely happy. I went and visited Romeo and bonded with him immediately. He was already 4 months so I took him home that day. He's the cutest, best tempered little thing I've ever seen. Since I don't have children, he is definately my baby. I haven't had a dog in almost 15 years...after I lost my pom-poo I said I'd never have another one because it broke my heart too bad after he passed at 15 years old. I finally gave in and decided I had to have a yorkie since I much prefer small dogs to large ones and the only pooch I've really had contact with was a little doggy that lived next door and I bonded with after my nicky died. I researched like crazy and finally convinced my husband after a year to give in also. Romeo will never replace Nicky but he does all the things that the other never did. He loves to cuddle. My husband is hooked too but he says I treat the dog better than him!

It's nice to see other YT lovers that live close by. Hope to get to know you better. Thanks for the information regarding Royal Acres Kennel. I may need this information. Yesterday, I went to a Kennel in Fuquay Varina, saw two Male Yorkies, whom I liked, but I had promised myself not to decide until I saw another Breeder's Yorkies, who lives in Advance, NC, whom I'm planning to see today. After I got home from seeing those two cute little pups, I emailed the lady, who stated there were two other ladies that are interested. I probably should have decided on one of those two yesterday, but woulda..., coulda... shouda...doesn't cut it, does it? Those were 5.5 weeks young, weighing 1.8 and 1.12 oz. There is one male pup today who is 7 weeks and weighs 2 lbs. and two other litters, which has two females and two males available(there were four females, but two have been purchased, so I'd have the third pick of the females). We shall see. I'll keep you posted. I think I'd prefer to take him/her home at the end of July because we have planned to go on a four day vacation and I didn't want to worry about the new babie, but it may be that I break down before that. You are too funny about your remarks about treating Romeo better than your husband. My Yorkie was the best. Her name was Natica. Now, I've had Isabella, who is a beautiful Smooth Fox Terrier, but I'm afraid that she lusts after my Fiancee(pretty slutty of her, don't you think?). So, I now want another Yorkie. I'm thinking of names. So far, I like Kecki, Karma, Khloee. Tell me, what you think of these. Bella & Maria | |

Welcome. I'm new here too, and loving it. I've learned so much in just a few days. I feel I'll be able to make a much wiser decision when I finally do find a Yorkie.
