| you have a pretty tall list for a very short price, show potential plus breeding rights will cost you far more even in Oregon! Most show breeders will not offer breeding rights unless they have a long and trusted relationship with the buyer, protecting their line. I know 5 show breeders here and vancouver NONE will sell with breeding rights, most keep the show potential for themself. good luck to you

| Yorkies- I am not sure how to say this without sounding like a "brat"... but for the life of me, I can not figure out why you state an "unethical breeder" is one who doesn't participate in dog sports.... (I found this information on your website) I know of a few people who "show" their dogs, who I would never buy a dog from just because I know how their dogs are kept. I am expecting puppies, I bred my dog with one who has strengths where my girls faults are (I don't see any faults, but according to the akc they are "faults"... a more cottony coat) I am selling all puppies on a limited registration, I did sign this agreement with the owner of the stud dog... she also requires the litters from her male be limited registration. Anyways, I rambled on more than I planned. I am just frustrated with people who feel they are "superior breeders" because they are involved in dog sports, and they "knock" us people who are breeding to better their line, or whatever they are breeding for... from your website I believe you have not bred any yorkies, and are just starting out correct? My advice to you would be to find a reputable mentor... If you are limited on your funds to pay for a show quality (which you won't know if the pup is show quality until 6 months of age) you may be setting limits on the quality of pup... show quality from champion lines are not that cheap... then add the costs of the vets, grooming, quality foods ect, ect.... you are looking at a pricey investment. jmho. | Question Minniemn..for the life of me I can not see the words.."unethical breeder" in either posts..what am I missing? I have met all types of breeders...I find the small scale, dedicated hobby breeder with excellent pedigreed, quality Yorkies very valuable to the dog community. Not only do they have wonderful pets, you can sometimes get a good show pup from them reasonable, without lots of strings attached. JMO |

| Pat, it is on her website that she stated for us to visit to learn more about her... she didn't state this on her post. I probably should not have posted what I did, but I have run into quite a few people who have this attitude with home breeders who do not show. There are all types of people who want puppies for different reasons, some prefer the home breeder, who has just one or two dogs that have litters, in their home, and the puppies are part of the home, familar with all the household sounds. And you have those who want show dogs who make their income by raising and breeding dogs. Neither is better than the other, both love their dogs just as much. Yes some from both types are not responsible, but that doesn't make them all bad. I am just getting frustrated with those who knock those of us who are not showing dogs, or in dog sports but do breed. My mentor stated that I will run into people who will cut down people like me who are just starting out, so I guess I just decided to state my opinion since we were invited to read her web site. here is the link.... well I can't post it now, because the web site isn't available at the moment, when it comes back up I will get the link. |
