| Help please! Yorkie wanted near Indianapolis area! Hi, I posted a thread earlier about looking for a puppy for my friend (and next door neighbor.) She has Brain cancer. Her daughter is 11 and she wants a Yorkie SO bad. They are looking at the shelters and puppyfinder.com and that sort of thing, but all the dogs are too far away, or they can't go to a home with children, or they have very special needs. If anyone knows of a breeder who maybe has a puppy they would be willing to part with for $300 or less, please PM me. They cannot afford to pay the usual price so I am trying to do this as a way to help them out. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to go over $300 right now. If you knew this family, you would understand why I want to help them. They are the MOST special loving family I have ever known. Any pup would be so blessed to go with this family. The little girl looks on the internet every night trying to find a Yorkie. She is so sweet. She comes over and is so sweet and gentle with Sophie. Please consider helping if you can. I'd never ask this for myself, but if you knew this family the way I do, you'd understand. Thanks.

| I wish I could help! Oh.......I wish I could help. I don't know anyone with a puppy to give away or sale for $300. If I did I would sure tell them about your friend and their little girl, but I'm in Texas, so it probably wouldn't help. However, I am willing to donate some money towards helping to buy one at a higher price if you can find one in your area. Maybe there are some others on here that are willing to do the same. If only 10 people donated $20, you would have another $200. What do they go for in Indiana? Could you tell us a little more about the family? I'd love to help anyway I can. It is so nice of you to do this for them. God has a special place in heaven for people like you. I wish you the best of luck and let me know what you think about my idea.

| You are so nice to offer to help like that. I printed all the adds that I could find for the Indianapolis area, and I am going to call today and see if I can get one from one of them at a discount. I will post and update after I talk with them. The family has an 11 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. The mother (my friend) is on her 3rd type of chemo since the tumor continued to grow with the other kinds. She had surgery to remove as much as they could and radiation too. They are AMAZING. The strength and courage she shows is to be admired. I think I would lay in my bed all day and cry, but she is a true fighter and she is sure she is going to beat this "pesky tumor". Any prayers would be grately appreciated. I could go on and on with how I feel about this family. They were on a wait list with a breeder when they found out about the brain cancer. Their daughter was so upset to not be able to get the Yorkie, but understood that they needed to wait. With all the expenses the cancer causes, they just don't have the money for the Yorkie now and so the daughter looks on line all the time and asks me if I have heard of any Yorkies needing to be rescued. It is so sweet and sad. One way or another I am going to make this happen. It would be such a bright spot in their lives right now. It may be just the thing they need to keep their spirits up. It could be a hard and long summer for the kids...I can just imagine the difference a Yorkie would make to them. O.k....I've gone on and on long enough. I'll post some more when I know more. Thanks!

| Oh My!! Now, I want to help even more! I'm going to print out your posts and talk to the people at my school and work and see if I can round up some more money. I'm sure we can help them out. I might not can get a puppy, but I can get some money. Surely there are some other YTer's here that can do the same. Keep us posted on what puppies you find and how much money is needed. You are such a great friend!!

| Thank you Tara! They are actually hoping to find a Yorkie on the big side 10 lbs or more since my friend has some balance problems and does not want to step on the dog!! Bless her heart! She is also interested in a Yorkie-Poo mix, so that broadens the search a little more. I'm making calls right now! You are awesome to want to help!!

| Update! O.K...I found one about an hour away that I can purchase for $450. Great price. The breeder came down a little on him. His size will be about 8-10 lbs, so that is great too. The only downside is that they were originally wanting a girl. But, I just talked to my friend and she said that she is going to talk to her daughter and see what she thinks. I'm so excited. I hope she wants the boy. The boys are easier to come by around here it seems. Cross your fingers for us.

| Yorkie Hi Bitsy, That sounds great. Hopefully they won't mind a little boy. I'm kinda partial to the males myself. I am working on getting some more money to help with buying him. Keep us posted.

| Going to visit pup today! Well, my friend's daughter is sure she wants a girl dog, but this boy would be so perfect for them. I'm going to take her daughter to visit the pup today when she gets out of school to see what she thinks. My hope is that once she sees him and holds him she will be in love and will want to take him home. I can hardly wait!!!! I wish she could get out of school early!! It's going to be exciting. Say a prayer that it all works out well. Thanks!

| Simba has a home!! Well, as I had hoped, my friend's daughter fell in love with the boy dog and we brought him home for her. Then we went to Petco and she had a great time picking out toys and a bed and all that good stuff. It was fun and I am so glad that their family now has a Yorkie! He will bring them much comfort and good times in the years ahead!!

| How Wonderful!! Oh....Bitsy....That is such good news. I'm glad she liked him! Of course, who can really resist a cute puppy? That was so wonderful of you and to buy her all the stuff she needs for him too........you are so great. You'll have to post pics so we can see. You never said for sure, how much did you get him for? Was it within your budget or did you still need help with him? If you don't need help with his costs, maybe I can order him some things from pet edge and have them sent to her house like food, clothes, etc. Let me know. You can PM me if you want. Tara

| Thanks....but I cannot even tell you how good it felt to be able to do this! I gave him a bath today and put a little blue shirt on him...he looked so cute. I'll take pics as soon as I get a chance. That is so nice that you would like to help. We are o.k. with the amount that we spent, if you'd like to send them something from Petedge, I know they would be so appreciative!! I'll pm you with their address!! Thanks!
