I bought my baby girl yorkie 3 weeks ago for my children, and soon found out that they are very allergic to dogs. She's very sweet, loves children, being held, taking bathes, getting her hair blowdryed, and playing. I have all of her bedding, toys, collar, leash, treats, & etc. I must get rid of her quick, because my youngest child is too young to take anything for allergies yet. Her pic is the one on my profile on the left, it's when she was 7 weeks old. |

| Hi Welcome to YT! It's always nice to have new members here I am sorry to hear about your childrens allergy problems! My sister has very bad allergies and has never had a problem with my two yorkies. Most yorkies are "hypoallergenic" so to speak and a lot of people who can't own other types of dogs can own a yorkie because of that. Have you looked into other possible reasons for their allergies? I'd hate for you to have to sell your little girl and then find out she wasn't the problem Hope everything works out for you! |

| Sorry to read that you have to re-home her Did you get her from a breeder? If so, do you have a contract? Many breeders want the dog to go back to them if the need of re-homing arises. Is there a health guarantee against genetic health problems? I agree with the post above...........did the Dr. say what they are allergic to specifically? Good luck and hope she finds a forever home soon

| Have you tried ALLERPET? Most people are allergic to dog dander and allerpet is a solution you can use as much as you need and it strips the dander off of the hair. I have allergies and asthma related to dog dander and that's what I use.. I also read that weekly baths eliminate 85% of dander. Hepa filters are also great to use.. they catch a lot of the dander. I know this has got to be such a hard situation!! I'd love to have her, but unfortunately I'm in NY and at this point I can't take a trip out to TX to pick her up. |
