| Man im depressed but i know ill get her soon well so far im working have a new job and i am trying to make it to at least $1200 to buy my yorkie. So far i got $300 my check $200 from my dad next week i will get $300 from my mom this week i will get $250 from work so if you do the math all i will be needing is about $200-300 more and im about done. Im sure ill get my baby by the second week or im hoping before xmas so i can dress her up. I posted some post before on how i wanted someone to give me or sell me a yorkie for cheap and that was a long time ago like 2- months ago for less than 500 and i decided i would rather save up and get a puppy that is worth it you know and that i know it wasent just a cheap deal. I hope i get her soon! if any one knows someone in california who sells good yorkies in that price range 900-1200 and has a litter ready to go before dec 30 (i really want to have her before my bday dec 30) please let me know asap thanks! |

| Congrats on being close to having enough money for a little bundle of joy! But, you might want to continue to save up more before you make your purchase. Taking them to the vet (for regular checkups and emergency situations) can be costly. You also need to consider food, toys, etc... Sounds like you are on the right track though!

| I had the same thought as Michelle. Make sure you have enough to finish the puppy vaccines, rabies shot, parasite check, possible worming, vet well puppy check-up and to buy quality food and grooming supplies. I would say a minimum of $200-$300 for the vet and another $50 to get started with food, treats, shampoo, and brushes. You will also need to purchase Heartworm medicine along with some Flea and Tick protection -- $50 and up. Now.... where is the baby going to sleep? You will need a bed, maybe a crate or wire cage, how about a carrier, X-pen, puppy pads, harness, leash, food dishes and toys. All of that can easily add another $300-$400. Yorkies also require regular grooming -- anywhere from $30-$60 every 6 weeks or so unless you can learn to do it yourself. If you do it yourself, you are talking another bundle for grooming tools. These are expenses if everything goes well -- now what if your baby gets sick, needs surgery, or extended animal hospital stay? I do not want to discourage you from having a pet -- but there is a lot of responsibility when you bring one home. The cost of buying your Yorkie is just a small beginning to the actual cost. They are worth every penny but we have to make sure we can take care of all their needs.
