| Looking For Reputable Breeder In NJ Hi. I'm new to Yorkie Talk and mom to three beautiful Yorkies. All three of my babies (Newman 10 yrs. Bella 3 yrs. and Noel 2 yrs.) are rescues. I would like to add just one more to my crew. Seeing the conditions my three came from has left a terrible taste in my mouth with regards to breeding and for this reason I tried once again to adopt through a rescue but have not been able to find the right girl. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has dealt with any reputable breeders in NJ. I'm looking for a small breeder that keeps the parents in their home as part of the family and one that does not over breed. Someone that genuinly cares for the parents as well as the pups. Thanks in advance. Elaine. |

| Welcome aboard! Are you willing to travel to neighboring states? If so, maybe someone can point out a good breeder in your area (not limited to NJ). Good luck finding your girl. I am sure you will and soon. I recently found my boy here on YT from a wonderful breeder in IL. Jess

| I know of a very nice breeder in Phillipsburg NJ who has gorgeous puppies called Top shelf puppies . I know she has some puppies available now, I almost adopted one. If you want I can PM you her contact info? I hope you find your little girl soon!

| I have to second the recommendation for sylvanyorkies. Although I have not bought a puppy from her, I did speak to her in a lengthly conversation regarding buying a puppy from her, but she did not have any at the time. Stacy was extremely knowledgable and very, very nice. I was immediately impressed with her. Had we not been in such a hurry to get a puppy NOW, I know, I would have gotten a puppy from her, if she choose us. In retrospect, I should have waited because I would have gotten a better quality puppy from a reputable breeder. But live and learn, and we absolutely love our baby girl, no matter how much of a hassle, it was to get her. Anyway, I do not know where you are in NJ, but we are from the Jersey shore and sylvanyorkies was about a 3-4 hour drive for us. Good luck! |

| Me 2!!! I'm at the shore too!!! Like 10 minutes from Point, unless it's summer. lol I brought my mom's yorkie with me once to the boardwalk, who I held the whole time, and and got yelled at by every employee. They even threatned to rat on me to the boardwalk coppers. Yorkie Natzis! Jazzy Girl, who did you end up getting your puppy from? If you don't mind me asking. I'm looking to buy a pup, and I'm trying to ween out all the bad breeders in the NJ area with personal experiences. Thanks BTW, has either of you ever been to that pet shop (AKA puppy hell) on Arnold Ave in Point? |

| Ali22 Ali22. I posted to you a little earlier. I'm originally from Pt. Pleasant and know exactly what Pt. pet store you were talking about. I took many walks on Arnold Avenue. I'm looking for a reputable breeder in NJ. I see you are looking too. Just a word of warning a woman from Howell often has ads in the Asbury Park Press. It's nothing but a filthy puppymill type breeding situation. She breeds cockers, yorkies, yorkie poos and I'm sure more. Often she gets her pups from the Amish as I was told by a reputable source. Just stay clear. Elaine |

| Steer clear Also be very careful of National Breeders in Middletown. They have some cute pups and claim to get from private breeders but I got a very sick pup from them. Horrible respiratory infection and when we finally got it cleared up found he had a heart murmur. Just google them to see some of the postings! Oh, the things I have learned about puppymills!, unfortunetly, too late. |

sorry, I have not been on the boards in the past few days, so I did not see your post. I bought my puppy from:"Puppy Elite" in Brooklyn, NY. He (David) has an impressive web site and sounds 100% above board---but believe me, run as fast as you can. He is nothing but a dog broker, who gets his puppies from puppy mills and then advertises them for being younger than they are, less weight than they are, and AKC registered. None of this is true. He says he will refund your money, but counts on the whole "tugging at your heart strings approach" and by the next day, when you take the puppy to the vet and then start to put the pieces of the puzzle together--you already love the puppy---he's got you and he knows it. I was orginally going to dispute the charge on my credit card as the puppy being misrepresented. My credit card was prefectly willing to prosecute, because they knew I had a case. BUT that would also mean we had to return the "merchandise" which is our precious baby. No way! At this point the puppy is a month older and much heavier than what he advertises for, AND has allergies; I know he has no use for this puppy ($ wise), however I know he would take her back, just for spite. We could not imagine what he would have done with our precious baby, so we decided not to pursue this matter through our credit card co. Bottom line.......Stay away from any place in Brooklyn or NYC that always has Yorkies for sale. They go by the name "Puppy Elite" so they name all the puppies after celebrities. They have a very nice web site, but are as illegit as they come. After research with the Brooklyn, Better Business Bureau--it has been discovered that there is no business license in the name of "Puppy Elite", in Brooklyn, NY or anywhere else in NY, NJ, PA, DL or CT. | I tried to go back and correct my post but it had been more than 5 minutes, so I could not do it. The only thing I wanted to correct is the name of the place where we bought our puppy. It is: "Puppy Elite" not "Elite Puppy". Thanks and please stay clear of this dog broker, he has the morals of a street rat. Run, do not walk away from this place. I do have to admit though, that although our puppy was TOTALLY misrepesented in regards to her age, weight, AKC registry and health and we greatly overpaid for her. She is still, one great puppy. This little girl has attitude like you have never seen. She keeps all her furbaby sisters and brother in control and this includes our 17 lb cat--Ariel, or aka Fat Cat! This baby is the most outgoing and charming puppy, we have ever had. She does not have a fearful bone in her body and is a constant comedy show to watch. She has captured all of our hearts, including her fur sisters and brother--and that is saying a lot! |
