New Here, Looking for Pup in NH, MA, RI Area

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All,

I am new to this site. I came looking for a YT Forum because I have been trying to find a good breeder in my area and wanted some advice. I live in Manchester NH...anyone close?

I have to say that at one point today I was close to tears...this has been such a struggle, it seems you can't trust anyone to be honest in the puppy world. I know the evil of puppy mills and irresponsible breeding...but I find more and more that these cruel/evil breeders are actually likable people! They say everything a good breeder is supposed to say...some of them are so crafty and tricky! It's enough to make you pull your hair out!

Is there anyone here who knows of a good breeder in the New Hampshire, Mass area? If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it very much. I feel like I'm hitting brick wall after brick wall.

Thank you very much for reading this...I hope that after I find a good breeder/yorkie puppy I will be able to have play dates with someone in my area. You all seem so nice, I'm very glad to have bumped into this forum.

Thanks again,
Natalie

Thanks for the reply.

I just don't understand bad breeders. Who are these people? Don't they understand they are peddling flesh? These people who are crating dogs in spaces just large enough for them to sit and breeding them for life...these people who are breeding runts..to runts..to runts and on and just so they can sell a sick, dying, suffering puppy for a few thousand dollars are monsters! Puppies are babies...it's like "breeding" sick, malformed children for money. It irritates me so much...I just can't understand people who cannot form deep connections with animals, who can't see them as needing, loving beings.

Sorry if that was intense...it just really bothers me, we can't buy these puppies because that just strengthens the puppy mill trade, but they are being born none the less. We can't save them. It's horrifying.

I just hope I can find someone good in my area, I'd like to know my breeder for a couple/few months before buying a pup. I am really excited though to have reached a point in my life where I can spoil the dickens out of a little boy or girl. I've waited for years and now it's finally that time!

Anyhow, thanks again for replying. I like it here.

I’m in CT and I’m looking for a breeder/yorkie close to the area as well. I haven’t had too much luck, the search is endless. I’ve been doing my research on and off for at least 4 months now. If you find someone reputable would you mind sharing the list as well? I’m not looking for a champion line or anything, I just want a healthy puppy.

There is none that I can recommend.. I am getting my first pup in June after doing search and studying for almost a year now. I am going to get a pup from a reputable breeder, Sylvan Yorkies in PA. Her user name is Sylvan and her website is www.sylvanyorkies.com She has placed her pup recently in Boston area, she flew to deliver the pup. I am also happy to help anyone in the area.

I have already visited her in January, I am going there again in two weeks, and going to get a pup in June. It is really worth traveling to get a pup from a wonderful breeder like her.

It is sad that there is no great breeders in New England....

Star Depending on cost, you may think about an import if...

...what you're looking for is a healthy dog that is a true Yorkie in type.
You see the standard in many of the catalogs you probably look at and that's what you want, well if so, you should really consider going to a breeder that shows. Don't let this deter you as far as cost goes, because ALL show breeders have puppies that cannot show and just because they come from great lineage, doesn't mean that they'll all charge you an arm and a leg!
Take a look at Sylvan Yorkies. It's my understanding that she has good dogs.
If you would like a list of ethical breeders please e-mail me:
topsredhead@yahoo.com

And as always, anything said in private w/ me can be posted on YT later!

Just wanted to add:

Thanks Stacy... <---- I can't wait!

Email Sylvan, really do. If that woman was charging a million bucks for her pups (she's not, obviously!)...I swear I'd raise the cash! I feel completely comfortable buying a puppy from her, there is no doubt in my mind that she is 100% trustworthy. It is really nice to take the anxiety out of buying a puppy, it is just so great to be able to focus on all the wonderful, positive aspects of bringing a new pup home...whithout the anxiety of not reallyknowing your breeder tugging at the back of your mind.

I'm getting my pup in late August/early September time frame and I am free to just focus on how wonderful it is going to be with no worries about the health or well being of my new pup.

If you need any help... let me know.. I know Stacy well by now and I am visiting her for second time next weekend and again in June. It is good to really go there yourself, so she can get to know you etc... but if anything.. pm me. Hmmm I wonder August, eh? Oh oh!! That might be the most beautiful one.. if I remember correctly with which sire and dam that she recently bred..
