Looking for a female puppy in or near Florida. - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I've been looking for a female yorkie puppy in or near Florida for a while now, to no avail. We're willing to travel anywhere that we can make a weekend trip out of. (I could have easily have gotten 10 puppies from Washington state, but I don't think we want to put our girl under a plane by herself for such a long trip while they're so young. My husband would be a nervous wreck, even if the puppy was fine.) We're in process of planning a long trip sometime during June of this year...if anyone will have a puppy ready then, we'll be willing to travel anywhere within the US.

About us: I'm about to change jobs so that I can work from home; among other perks. This weekend we're laying tile in the main living ares of our home, so accidents will be easy clean up and that finishes off the main part of the home remodel we've been going through. We enjoy going to parks on the weekends and would love a companion we could take on vacations with us. I think we could offer a

Yorkie an ideal home.

Already checked with Pat. Unfortunately, if there are good breeders down here in Florida, they don't make themselves known.

Applied to a few places...including a rescue; a horrorible experience for the second time this year! Ugh! Looking for a decent back yard breeder and just demanding health records is sounding better and better everyday, but even those are usually sold out of females when I called the ones in the paper. We peeked in a "Just Puppies", where we got our oldest beagle from (she's been healthy as a horse and had all of her shot records and everything in check), and even they had all males! My husband's worse than a little kid waiting for Christmas, asking if I found anyone that has one or will have puppies soon. It's been a LONG past couple of months...

I dunno...on top of not wanting to have to put a puppy through that, there are so many scammers out there - I emailed 23 people from PuppyFind.com, 13 were scammers looking for a money gram (Unsecure Funds), 7 didn't answer, 1 jumped their prices from what was listed on the site, 1 magically changed locations from Alabama to Washington state, 1 had already been sold. I'd much rather drive somewhere; even if it's on the other side of the country during our vacation time, meet the puppy, and hand someone cash.

...not to mention we've only managed to set aside $1,200 for a puppy and with my job change, I don't know if that's going to have a chance to "grow" much more and I don't want to dip into our separate savings account that's used for emergencies (although if my husband doesn't stop driving me up the wall about a puppy, it IS going to become an emergency. lol.)...shipping usually runs at least another $150.

check out st pete times. they usually have tons of yorkie listings at a good price. although you have to carefully screen the breeders. good luck.
