| Hi Paula, I read your posts where some of the remarks were in disagreement with you owning a yorkie with you having a child. Nobody knows your child better than you. I do agree accidents happen with children tripping and falling, but adults can trip and fall too....I trip over my dog every time I turn around because she follows me everythere and is quiet as a mouse. I have also heard about small dogs jumping from high places and getting hurt..Accidents can happen in any scenario..If you and your little girl are ready for a small dog-then go get it!!! (just make sure its not too tiny) |

| Thanks for coming back to post again! If you want a yorkie - and who wouldn't??? - do your research, prepare your daughter and search out a good breeder who can give you a healthy dog. I have a very small yorkie (3.5#) and a very rambucious 6 year old son. He was prepared and trained on how to deal with the dog. The funny thing is that any time Chewy has been stepped on or hurt, it has been by an adult, never my son!!! What better way to help your daughter respect animals and deal with her fears than by bringing a lovely little pup into our home. Each child is an individual and you will definitely find a breeder who will underestand that. Keep looking in the for sale section and maybe talk to a vet or rescue organization in your area. The right puppy is out there for you |

| We have 3 kids, 3 Yorkies and a shih tzu. And have never had any problems with our kids. I also have a daycare in my home and haven't had problems with my daycare kids. I've always made it clear on how we only pet and not chase or carry the Yorkies. But I do know that sometimes yorkies and kids don't mix. I had a neighbor kid over once (with her mom) and she jumped on our male Yorkie when he was only 14 wk old and broke his leg. We have a female Yorkie for sale for $800. We purchased her for breeding and she isn't going to work for that, but she would make a wonderful pet. She is 10 mo old, 5.5 lb, and is house broke and use to being with kids. We would be willing to meet you half way to deliver her.

| Thank you so much to all who have posted! My husband and I have desided to wait untill he comes home from Iraq so that Zoi (that is the name I have picked) Can come to our home and get to know everyone at once and not get settled and then have to be introduced to someone new! So I think that is a good idea for now! But I can't wait till he comes home so I can find my little Zoi! Anyway Thanks again to all! And to Jan L. Ft. Campbell is in Kentucky!

| I have 2 children, the youngest was only 5 years old when i got Pippa. Neither of my children have ever hurt or stepped on her but unfortunately i have What im trying to say is its not always the kids who hurt the dog, i think having children and a yorkie is down to the individual. Good luck in your search!
