Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Heartbroken, Looking for a Yorkie Hi everyone!!! I am totally new to YorkieTalk (and have no idea what I'm doing quite yet), so I wanted to quickly introduce myself! My name is Maya, and although my husband and I live in NY (but are not of the "NY mentality" - everyone in a rush to get no where - on time!), we are both itching to relocate to a more laid back state (we are currently toying with the Southeast vs. the Northwest)! I just finished my PhD in Educational Psychology, while being a NYC HS Math teacher (which I absolutely love!), so I finally have the time to devote to properly raising a puppy (10+ years in the making!), who I will spoil with love unconditionally. We just had an unbelievably, almost unfathomable, heartbreaking experience with a breeder here in NY , and nothing would make us happier than to provide a loving, nurturing, puppy-centered FURever home to a baby Yorkie (male or female, so long as he/she is healthy!), from a reputable, caring, compassionate AKC member, YTCA breeder, who is willing to provide us with support throughout the baby's, G-d willing, 15+ year life! Since we are looking to relocate, we don't think we'd be comfortable caring for a puppy until we have settled into our new home, in January 2014. However, we figured we'd start researching early, since our hopes and hearts are so completely shattered right now. Any recommendations y'all can provide us with, we'd be SO beyond appreciative. We are willing to travel anywhere (as we do not support shipping of puppies!) via car, to meet with the pawfect breeder. We are praying this forum, and all of you incredibly warm, compassionate and amazingly knowledgeable Yorkie lovers, can be of help to us, in our search for a new addition to our family. Any and all information you may have to help us find a new angel to care for, words cannot adequately express how much it would mean to us. Truly. Thanks, in advance so very much. All my love, and please take good care, y'all |

| It's s great that you are starting your search early. It may take a while to find the right breeder and to establish a good relationship with a breeder. I'd recommend starting with the YTCA. I hear there are a lot of good breeders in the tri-state area. I live on Long Island, and I am also a high school teacher. My first six years were with the NYC Board of Ed, but I have been in an amazing high school in Old Westbury for a long time now. I'm just not ready to retire, although my little girl is going to be very sad when September comes around. I am blessed to have the opportunity to share my life with Katie, a little girl who was retired from showing and breeding at the age of three. She has been with us since May 2102. Everything they say about the difference of getting a dog from a great breeder holds true with Katie. She has the most amazing temperament and is a dream. Two dear friends from YT helped me find her and get her to me, since she came from just north of Toronto. Katie is just the happiest little girl, so athletic, loving, sweet, and perfect in every way. We are just so lucky that our breeder entrusted us with her very loved little girl. If you are interested in any feedback about breeders, let us know, and we'd be very happy to help. I'm attaching some links that are really helpful. Welcome to YT. I'm sorry you had a painful experience with another breeder, and I hope your dream comes true for you like it did for us with Katie. Congratulations on your PhD. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...e-breeder.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pup...ml#post4142424 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...s-yorkies.html

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi there! I will absolutely provide you with the information of the breeder that has left me a crying mess (and I never cry - go figure!). However, it's not in my nature to "out" people in public; I hope you understand. If you send me a Private Message, I can either Message you back, or send you my cell phone number - you can call anytime, literally (I am so distraught, sleeping has become a rare luxury!). As a "YT virgin," I don't want to go into detail about our experience for the world to see, but I will most definitely ensure that you do not get schemed the way we did; that would be such a blessing for me to help you! Take good care! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi everyone, I just wanted to thank you ALL, from the bottom of my heart, for sending me messages and leaving notes here. It's only my second day on YT, but y'all have so quickly become a part of my family, and I am so extremely grateful. I promise I will reply to each of you individually, but in the interim, I didn't want to go another minute without expressing how blessed I am to be "virtually surrounded" by such a lovely, helpful, optimistic, welcoming, and well-versed group of people. You have all lifted my spirits more than I can adequately express in words, and even though I know we have a long road ahead of us to find a truly honest person, who breeds our most favorite dogs in the world, y'all have made me believe it is possible that our puppy is out there somewhere, just when I had lost hope. Any breeders you may know of, or who you've have positive personal experiences with, by all means, please Message me, or send me their information. Just as I tell my students that "no question is a stupid question," I truly believe that "no information is useless information." I intend to get back to each and every one of you personally throughout the week, but please know how much every single response, kind word, or welcoming greeting, has meant to me. I am so blessed that I have found y'all, and please know, once we find ourselves a home, you and all of your furkids are welcome anytime; you are all members of our family now All my love and many thanks again, Maya |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! I've just recently purchased a house in Southern Oregon, and moving there permanently from Missouri soon. It's taken time to make sure the move is right for my dogs. I'm just about ready! I love it there! The YTCA is a good start, although some are better than others. I have my reasons for not joining, but there are some good breeders. Be sure to check out any breeder you decide on. |

| I know you'll be really happy if you get a pup from Deb. I have my own Amazing Yorkie I got from her, and little Cookie is about everything I could ask for in a best friend: she's really loving, gives tons of yorkie kisses, loves to run around and explore in the yard and the house, always wants to play, when she gets really excited she has a cute run that looks like a bunny hop, and she just adores us all. Just the picture of health too, and what a soft and silky coat every time I brush it. Cookie was so well socialized by Deb that we were good friends by our first day together too. She is doing great on her potty training, she sleeps well in the crate, eats well, and just brings so much more joy into my life. And I'm not the only one here just in love with the yorkie we got from Deb Sillers. Check this thread from lynzy420 about her Amazing Yorkie named Vinnie. If you read this hilarious thread you can really see Deb's love for her pups shining right through. I just can't even put into words how happy I am with my pup Cookie that I got from Deb, and she is a wonderful breeder to get a pup from. I included a few pics of my girl I got from Deb; she really is amazing!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Yikes! I didn't know if it was "legal" to share this person's information publicly. I also didn't want to offend the one person I found so far (mind you, I am learning the site more slowly than I would like...so there might be others!) who does own a puppy from this breeder. My kindness is most definitely my biggest weakness. I haven't finished going over the YT Rulebook, so I didn't want to break any regulations...especially on my first two days here |

It's also fantastic that you've actually taken the time to read YTs rules. It's a shame that some posters don't do that & instead feel the need to respond inappropriately. I wish I hadn't quoted the post that was removed of mine because it contained this link to those rules. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...uidelines.html Glad you found YT & hoping you'll eventually find that puppy of your dreams. It may take some time & I know how hard it is to have patience while doing the research required. We really DO need more users like you. I'm also glad that I happened to be in the Blog area at the same time you posted there. I noticed this morning you donated! Thanks for helping keep YT alive through donations such as yours...without them, YT wouldn't be able to remain THE top Yorkie site on the internet.

| Maya, I think you are doing all the right things. You are searching and trying to make friends with people who can be a help to you in that search. So many (including myself) go out and get pups and THEN research. I'm proud of you and of all the newcomers I see who come and ask questions and try to connect and learn. Very proud.
