| Female Yorkie wanted i have an adorable Male teacup yorkie he is 8mnths old and he told santa what he wanted for Christmas was a female friend...Giggle.. Well being a good mommy I am looking all over...and I can't find a breeder here in Florida. Seems most places that have them...dont have the parents on premises but swear that they aren't from puppy mills...I don't get it.. I am not putting down anyone who may have gotten there little bundle of joy from a place like that...Heck thats where I got Harry d...and a mountain of medical bills(he is 100% ok now).....So i am thinking a breeder would be the best way to go this next time... So if you have a female for sale...PLEASE let me know... We are in Miami, Florida... thanks... |

| changed mind...sort of... Well I have been told that i do not want a TINY female, but rather a toy female in case i want to breed her in the future...I am not sure i want to, but in case.... They say that the males can be smaller then the females....Is that true? Any thoughts and ideas about that? Jenn

| Theirs no such thing as tiny or toy they are all just yorkies. Some people call the small ones tinies. All yorkies are in the toy group. If you are going to breed a 5lb or more yorkie is what you want. You can get a smaller male so you will have smaller pups.

| There is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie. All Yorkies are toy breed dogs and should be between 4-7lbs. Check out this link: http://yorkiepassion.com/Teacupyorkies.htm I don't know of any breeders in Florida. You're thinking you might want to breed? Females need to be over 5lbs to be bred. If your male has a lot of medical problems like you said, you shouldn't breed him.

| You might want to do a search on YT on breeding. It is not for the faint of heart. Toooo many things can go wrong ..so your first step is to do a lot of research and then more research. You would not want to lose any little girl that you purchased.

| There are some top breeders in your area - So. Fla. Just go to YTCA (Yorkshire Terrier CLub of America) and contact the Gold Coast Yorkshire Terrier Club - they have members that breed and show yorkies. Best of Luck! The YT members are correct about no such thing as toy or teacup yorkies. Some are just smaller than others. Also they are right - breeding female is best from 5-7 pounds. Good luck and do keep researching. You'll get better at it! T. |

You might check out Yorkiepark but I would suggest first that you spend a goodly amount of time researching what you THINK you want to do and how it should be done. Its not to be taken lightly and its not easy, quick money as so many think. Be prepared for spent money, loss of sleep and possible heartache. And for heavens sake do it only if you know your dogs and that it will produce puppies that will better the breed or at least be nice HEALTHY pets. JMHO

| Attached are pics of Madie, our 8 month old Yorkie. She has been a wonderful pet; however, we purchased her for breeding, and she has only gotten 4 of her top front adult teeth and needs to have 6. We want to build a good breeding program and won't breed her if she in not standard. Currently she is 4.75 lb and is getting a blue coat. She is well sociallized with other dogs and kids and is HOUSE TRAINED. Other than missing some teeth she has great comformation and has been in great health. If you are interested you can e-mail me @ danschaben@frontiernet.net. We are asking $1500 for her, which we feel is reasonable since just about anywhere you look pet quality Yorkies go for this or more. and we paid more for her, because we thought we were going to breed her. It breaks our heart to see her go, but we really want to show and breed the Yorkies. We live in Nebraska but we have a couple of friends coming to FL in a couple of weeks for a vaccation. so if your interested we could send her with them. She is a really sweet and beautiful dog. the pics don't really do her justice.
