| Puppy Wanted-Texas I am looking to bring home a female Yorkie in June as a pet. I live in Dallas. After doing a quick search for breeders, I am finding the results to be quite overwhelming and I am not exactly sure what to look for because I have never purchased a puppy before. I am not opposed to driving to other cities to pick up the puppy. I am not sure what to expect price wise, but I cannot spend more than $1200. This way I have additional funds to spend on things such as vet visits (expected and unexpected) and daily things. I really just want a good pet that is well socialized and comes from a good breeder because I have read the importance of the first 12 weeks of development. Thanks for your help! |

| Yorkie in Texas Hi! I have three little guys from three different states actually but my last little yorkie came from Texas from DaVana's Yorkies. Dana has been great to me and Izack whom we got from her is wonderful. You may want to check out her website and take a look. I am not sure what she has available presently but it's worth taking a look at. You may even wish to contact her. I do recommend her as a yorkie breeder and I love my baby. |

| Can you tell me what about your experience with this breeder made it great? Can you tell me a little bit about your Izack-his temperament, coat, trainability? Thanks! |

| Thank you, I will look at your blog. I am also finding a lot of backyard breeders in this area. As cute as their babies are, I am steering clear! |

| Welcome to YT! I wanted to say that I commend your for doing your research! I should have researched before I bought Jack, but didn't know any better. Fortunately he is healthy and happy (though he does have some issues I believe from being taken from his momma too young). I did research and purchased Izzy from Greens Treasured Yorkies. (Brenda is a member here also.) Izzy is well rounded, well adjusted and just a ball of energy and love! Good luck in your search.

Can you recommend any body here around Ft Worth, TX? I had an appt with the Shimmertime but I just read a very negative thread on YT about the owner possibly in-breeding her dogs in back yard cages. Then I talked to one guy that lets his go at 8 weeks. Isn't that too young? I want one so bad!! But I want to be smart and not hasty in my decision. | |
