| Looking for puppy - in CT, or someone that ships I've been searching for Yorkie puppies for a little while now. I'm a 23 year old female, from CT. I already have a 1 year old Chihuahua, and an 8 year old mixed larger dog. They get along wonderfully, and ADORE all other animals from dogs to cats to turtles. So i'm looking to add one more baby to the family. I began my search on puppyfind.com, and thought a lot of their prices seemed very reasonable. But, i'm not one to click on the first one i see and purchase, so i read around... and came to find out that most of the ones listed are part of the puppy scam going on. I've got MANY emails from different "breeders", saying they are missionaries... need to place puppies... will ship to me, from Africa/Nigeria. I've heard ALL the stories, i believe NONE of them, but it's VERY discouraging. I see sites online, all the puppies are $1800+! That's FAR too much for me, as i'm looking to spend around $500. So, with all that said, i'm looking for a yorkie puppy. Male or female, a younger age range but doesn't have to be the fresh 2 months, 4 or 5 months would do just fine. Someone that would ship to CT would be nice. A reputable seller, that i could speak to. |

| I looked on petfinder too - Yorkies are hard to come by for sure. There is only one in my "area" (8 hours away) and he is already 14 years old and the adopting price is $200!! |

| Have you tried the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America? They have listings of breeders in all of the states. Here is the link: http://www.ytca.org/breeder_referral.html I am also in CT. Where in CT are you? I will also be looking for a new puppy next year. I don't have much to spend either but I know it will have to be more than $500, especially for a girl, which is what I want. Good luck on your search for your new baby. |

| Just a thought...it would be better to know of an existing condition in a rescue, than take a chance on a 'cheap' pup that may cost much more in the long run. jmo, good luck in your search. |

| I agree. Most of the time the more "expensive" pups are the ones that have had tests. The "cheaper" ones from the bad breeders haven't had their shots and some of them had never been to the vet, like poor Brandy was when we saved her from the bad place. But after I saw the filth she was living in I had to get her out of that stinky box. So far she's okay, but you never know what problems will come up later. |

Edit : I forgot to add, why are (some) gentic health contracts for a short period of time (10 weeks to a year)? I know a wonderful Standard Poodle breeder who has a lifetime contract with all her poodles (show or pet quality)! I find it very distrubring that the yorkie breeders I am finding dont stand 100% by their yorkie and guarantee that the yorkie that was adopted (purchased) wont get sick because of poor breeding! | |

| Well, Im from Mass which is not too too far from you and I got both my babies at a place called "laughlin kennels" Both are very healthy now but my little girl had a bad bad cold when I first got her in Nov. At that time they also had another adorable yorkie. Dont know if they still do though. Good Luck to you. Oh and I paid 1200 for Louie, and 1500 for Bella......just to give you an idea.

| Female 8 Week Yorkie For Sale In Nj $900 Selling Female 100% Yorkie 8 Weeks $900 Or B/o I Received A 6 Week Old Yorkie For Christmas. Unfortunately, I Do Not Have Any Time For Her With My 3 Year Old Home All Of The Time And Also Other Personal Matters. She Needs A Good Home. She Is Very Loving, Paper Trained, And We Have Already Begun Other Training. She Can Sit On Command. She Is Now 8 Weeks. She Has Not Had Shots Yet Because When I Took Her To The Vet At 6 Weeks, He Told Me She Was Too Young. She Does Not Have Papers Bc Breeder Refused To Give Them To Me Due To Me Being Able To Breed Her. She Is 2 Lbs Now. I Will Accept $900 Or B/o, Great For Valentines Day. I Am In Nj Area, And I Am Willing To Drive Halfway. |

| Judge Not!! I Bought Myself A Yorkie In August, Paying $2800 For Him. I Love Him To Death.... I Wanted A Little Girl To Spoil As Much As I Do My Other Puppy. I Also Have A 3 Year Old, And I Was Recently Declared Disabled. I Am Not Able To Give Her The Proper Care She Needs For Being So Young, Without Neglecting The Others. I Have Many Surgeries Coming Up, And I Dont Want To Negelct Her. My Other Male Is Older And Easier To Care For..... I Was Stoked When I Received Her For Xmas. We Are Devastated To Give Her Up. We Are Selling Her Cheaper Than We Paid Just To Give Her To A Good Home. So Before You Judge, Get The Facts Straight!! Someone Would Be Excited To Get Her For Valentines Day! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope you find her a good home! Do you have a picture of her you could post! I hope your health improves, I know it must be difficult to give her up but only you know your situation and it sounds like you only have the pups best interest at heart.
