| I'm looking for an AKC male Parti Yorkie in Oceanside CA area I have a 13 year old s**tzu-poodle mix that I adopted from the pound when she was 5 weeks old. (Her mother passed away). Gizmo is very relaxed and even though she is a little bigger than a yorkie, she is gentle. Baby, her adopted sister who was 17, died three years ago and I am finally ready to get another dog. I want a male parti yorkie, because I just love how precious and beautiful they are, and I'd like the option of showing/breeding at a later date. I've never bought an AKC registered dog before, I've always gotten my mutts from the pound. But I really think I might enjoy showing, so here I am. I have two kids, ages 6 and 8 who know how to be gentle with small animals. We've had two guinea pigs for just over a year now, and they are still alive and well! If you have AKC registered Parti Yorkies and are within a 100 mile radius of Oceanside, CA, please reply to this thread. PM's will be read with dis-trust, replying to this thread is a much better option if you want me to respond. |

| Parti Colored AKC registered yorkies are not allowed to show in AKC conformation classes due to their off color. You could show him in other AKC sponsored classes like agility or obedience but not conformation.

| You can also show a parti yorkie in APRI conformation shows. You can double register him as AKC and APRI so that he is eligible to show for APRI. In APRI a health certificate is required showing the Yorkie is healthy before it can be shown. |

| If you want to buy from a California breeder you may want to contact the "grand dame" of Parti Colored Yorkies - Loryn Bogren at Crownridge Gems. Her website is not very up to date but you can see examples of her dogs there and find her contact information. Parti Color Yorkies - Parti Color Yorkys - Party Color Yorkies She is also on Facebook. Good luck in your puppy search. There are other good Parti breeders across the country if Loryn doesn't have what you are looking for. Teresa |

| Thanks guys! I think agility/obedience is more my thing anyway. My sister in law shows her two australian shepherds in agility and loves it. That's what I'm thinking... I want a hobby, and to show off my sweet little Yorkie! Teresa, I just emailed the crownridge lady, hopefully she can give me some info. I've been looking online but most are scams. Thanks again to all who responded, I'm reading all the posts and soaking in information! |

Here are a few stikeys that might be helpful in trying to chose a good reputable breeder: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...kie-puppy.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-answered.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...uy-yorkie.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ead-first.html Welcome to YT and I wish you luck in your puppy purchase. I can already tell that you are wise with only wanting to communicate on the forum regarding a puppy. There have been a lot of backdoor purchasing going on and some my so ethical breeders lurking. Here is an example of something that happened last with to a post similar to yours. I of course knew this was a scam but played along http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...se-beware.html

I'm also not aware of "unhealthy" puppies and I know several breeders who have puppies from her. Can you please be more specific and let us know the number of puppies and what makes them unhealthy? Do you personally have a puppy from Crownridge Gems or know someone who does? Are you speaking about sick puppies, genetic problems, etc.??? I was just offering a suggestion to the OP since they are in the same state and wish to visit the breeder in person. If this is not a breeder that I should be refering people to I would really like to know why. Please let us know. Teresa Last edited by Teresamag; 01-03-2011 at 05:20 AM. | |

| I have my info from a person that has been to her house over and over again. Just watch puppy find and see those who are advertising Blue puppies for sale. CR also breeds a female that has 3 legs over and over again. SAD CR had a female that had legg Perthes, she had her operated on then bred her. CR had the Humane society called on her and they spent 2 days there and all but a few of her dogs have been moved to Vals house. L only has a few mothers and pups at her house now. Wonder why???????? These are facts, not lies . BTW heres a thread which later this person was bought off by L http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...i-allison.html |

| I did the same search both on YT and on the internet and came up with the same sites. I'm just researching and NOT defending anyone - but doesn't it look like one person who was very unhappy with this breeder has posted her side of the story in several places? It's very hard to tell but I have been able to find only one or two people who will post publicly anywhere that they are unhappy with Loryn and why - these links seem to be these same people. I wish people would post what they know personally not what someone else told them or what they heard. It does appear this breeder has replaced or promised to replace any defective dogs. Even the affected person has posted that Loryn has made it right with her. Isn't that what we always ask of breeders? With that said, I have had a couple of PM's/emails from people who do not want to post publicly. From what I have been told (again hearsay) this is not a breeder I would be comfortable recommending any longer. I do not personally "know" this breeder nor have I been to her home but I will not recommend her any longer. Please do your own research and make your own conclusions. As with any breeder please check their references, talk with their vet if possible, do a web search, view their written guarantee before purchase, etc. To the OP, good luck in your puppy search.
