| Hi welcome to YT you will love it here. I would also check www.puppyfind.com they have Yorkies that are fine quality. Depending on where you are in FL or how far you are willing to travel I can direct you to a few Yorkie breeders that I would trust mostly in GA tho! Just send me a pm if interested. HTH

What criteria do you use to "trust" a breeder?

| I agree about Puppyfind, not a good place to go at all. |

| Yes, I would call YTCA members in your area/state. I know quite a few of them and they are really good. Do not be in a hurry. If some do not get back right away with you - remember Thanksgiving is here. They may be off visiting or having complany and family over. Be patient, call and leave a message. |

| Good luck in your search for a puppy... You've gotten a lot of good advice to help you find it. I agree with the others that you should avoid websites that sell puppies. No reputable breeder would sell their dogs on puppyfind. Good luck!!

| I once bought a dog from puppyfind and the poor guy was extremely sick and needed emergency surgery that cost me over $3k! When I contacted the breeder who claimed the dog had a "health warranty" he dissapeared and would not do anything to help me out. Finally the doctors were able to heal him and he is now 2 years old. Never again will I make that mistake. Try looking for a good breeder. |

A reputable breeder will also not always have a puppy readily available for sale. I don't know if any actually interviewed you or if they perhaps have something just not ready to go now. It helps a lot if when you phone you tell them a little aobut yourself and the type of home you can offer. If you phone and say I want a yorkie how much are they that will not open a door to you. | |

| Just looking to buy from a breeder directly instead of a pet store or online ad which are scams most often |

| UPDATE: I went with a breeder I had contact with her .. unfortunately my little girl vixie after about 11 months has passed away. She was a little tiny baby a runt . While I was at work DH had left the babies out . Vixie went out went potty and DH noticed she was under our dinner table passed out with a faint heartbeat. He had rushed to the er and thought everything was okay until vet had called hom and said she had passed. It has been a year and a few months.. now i am grieving two lost angels.. I want to try again I just need some guidance. Anyone have a little furbaby that was from a breeder and is healthy at 5+years.
