| Wanted- small puppy in il I am looking for a friend of mine. Over a year ago she got 2 Yorkies from me. Her puppies are now 2.8 lbs and 3.5 lbs. Her sister is now looking for a yorkie and they have asked me to help them find one. I have explained health over size and they have asked me to look for a puppy who should be 3-4lbs. It is a married couple with adult children in college. Must be AKC but limited registration is fine. They will be really wonderful Yorkie owners. They live in Orland Park IL. I am concerned that the puppy be healthy a vet check will be necessary before the puppy goes home with them. |

| Hi there are not many good yorkie breeders here in Il, unfortunately, but if they are willing to travel, Indiana and Michigan have awesome breeders. One breeder I know off the top of my head is Brenda (Breny), she is in Michigan. I'm sure if she doesn't have any puppies available, she could help you out in finding someone who does. Her website is Home - Greens Treasured Yorkshire Terriers and Biewers, check it out

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | What about adopting a slightly older yorkie from a rescue? That way they could be more certain about final size.

| I have a small male Biewer available (I am in Illinois also) if you think they may be interested please let them know. I had a post in the for sale section but I quit advertising him there...his name is Peanut. |

| Hi, I have a small female that is 6 months old that is available. I kept Megan back as pick of the litter but she is going to be too small to breed. She currently weighs 3 lbs 2 oz and will be spayed before going to her new home (and have limited AKC registration). Megan has passed her vet health check up but will have another one before her spay. She is up to date on all vaccinations and is very social. We are located in SW Missouri so it would not be too far of a drive for your friend to come visit us. You can see pictures of Megan on my website and I am planning on taking fall pictures of her and a couple of my dogs today so I will have brand new ones later today. I will need to talk with your friend about Megan if she is interested so please have her email me. Thanks so much, Teresa Magnum Yorkies, AKC Yorkie puppies for sale |

| Thank you, Her sister came to Mississippi, Though the puppies were 21-22 weeks I wasn't comfortable with them flying. I don't think they want to travel quite that much but i'm sure a few hours would not be a big deal. Thank you for the info. I will go check it out. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Please remember to check out anyone that offers you a puppy for sale through this site just as thoroughly as you would anyone else. Being a member of YT doesn't automatically equate to being a good breeder.

| I just took new pictures of Megan and I'm posting them on my website if you would like to see them. I'm going to try to post them here as well, the first two were taken "all pretty" and the other one is after Megan got her top knot out, she loves to rub her head on pillows afterwards - it's pretty funny. As I always tell people please do be careful when adopting your new family member. I even created a page on my website on how to prevent being scammed when adopting a puppy and I have a page on the website of people to contact for references. In fact, several people on YorkieTalk have puppies from me. For my part I will be just as careful when finding a new home for Megan, I only want the best for my puppies. Whilst YT is a great place to get information on potential breeders, please remember that to make an informed decision, ANY breeder considered needs to be researched thoroughly. (As I'm sure both you already know.) Keep in mind that being a member of YT does not mean one is an ethical breeder. There are loads of fabulous breeders here, but also some that are....questionable. Be cautious of anyone that contacts you privately with offers of pups for sale. That happens many times 'behind the scenes' in an effort for shady breeding practices to not be brought to everyone's attention on the open forum. So again, please, please, PLEASE be extra cautious of those contacting you privately. Good luck with your search. Hopefully you will get some good recommendations here. | |

I will yet again put my two cents in with regards to health: above and beyond the "normal" usual vet visit and paperwork; look to see that parents are OFA tested for hip and knees, CERF for PRA, BATS done on parents, (and preferably pups at 16 wks repeat at 6mths), heart, aand maybe thyroid. Again look to see the website CHIC which shows what health tests have been done on breeding dams/sires. Inquire about what health problems have cropped up in the breeding lines. Look for a "meaningfull" health guarantee offered by the breeder.
