| Looking for a male pup Hi, I just found this site while trying to determine the best method to find a pup. I recently retired and moved from Oregon to Arroyo Grande Calif, and have wanted a Yorkie for years. Now that I am retired, I am searching for the best match of breeder who has a male pup. I would hope to visit and meet the litter and select, rather than just click and buy it now from some of the sites I've seen. I don't mind traveling a bit to find the right breeder and pups. Also open to ideas how to make my search a success. I am a full time RV'er and and active person so looking forward to my traveling companion. Thanks for any help..... Mike |

| I would post your request in this section: Yorkies For Sale or Wanted - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community Check out the YTCA for reputable breeders Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club Also if you get PM's offering a Yorkie, make sure you check them out thoroughly. Being a member of this forum does not automatically make them a good breeder. Don't be afraid to check breeders out in the breeder section. I am happy you want to visit and check the puppies out personally

| I just got my youngest from a breeder in So CA: Scruffy's toys Maltese Yorkshire Terriers Puppies Show Dogs My youngest is a little girl born on 8/5/10 and of course she is still with her furmom and lil furbrothers. I spoke with Ms. Landry several times and she seems to be amazing and is a very reputable breeder. I did not have the opportunity to actually go there to pick my pup. I just knew that I wanted one of hers and I wanted a girl, she had too and sent me the pictures. I felt in love with both and ended up picking up the one she thinks will be bigger as an adult. Since you can travel, you may wanna call and try to go there, I know she has a boy and a girl available now... |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Hi there. There are lots of great stickies in the forums to offer some advice on helping you choose your breeder. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ead-first.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ease-read.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ead-first.html Also, as Beamer's Mom said, just because someone from this site has a puppy for sale doesn't automatically make them a good breeder. Take your time doing your research. And, because I always have to say this, have you considered a yorkie from a reputable rescue? You would be surprised at how many purebred yorkies are available through them because people get tired of them or because they didn't realize that, although they are small, they are still a dog and take lots of work. Good luck in your search.

| Welcome to YT! You've come to the right place for information. I would recommend contacting the YTCA.org for breeder recommendations. Also, see if there is a local kennel club, either breed specific or general, in your area. You may be able to attend some of their events or get recommendations from them. Learn the red flags commonly associated with Yorkie breeders so that you know which breeders to avoid. Sounds like whatever boy finds his way into your life is going to be one lucky fella! I don't think this point can be stressed enough. There are some very unethical breeders even here on YT , many of whom contact members privately for fear that the less favorable aspects of their programs will be brought to light if they post pups publically. |

| I agree with reading the material that the others have supplied you with - it's always helpful to learn more - beforehand. However, I do want to add that you'd be lucky to get a pup from Cynthia Landry. She's a well respected YTCA member and has been breeding/showing Yorkies & Maltese for years. She's really hard to get in touch with because she is so active. She does a lot of breeding with the Images Kennel. Cynthia Landry Scruffy's http://www.scruffystoydogs.com/ Patti Bisgard Images I do want to note that I don't know either of these ladies, nor do I have a dog from them - this is only my opinion from my own research. Good Luck and please share you new pup with us when you get her/him.

I didn't have any trouble on reaching her, she always answers the phone when I call, even when I called the first time she promptly answered the phone, as well as answers my emails and sends me updated pics of Natalie... I'm very pleased and highly recommend anyone looking for a pup to contact her. | |
