| Yorkie Hi Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I am glad that you are taking an interest in the Yorkshire Terrier, they are an awesome wonderful breed, as you can see why I say that lol. I really would like you to think about this having a Yorkshire Terrier in your home with small children in the home. These dogs need alot of care ( I dont want anyone to assume that all dogs dont need alot of care) I will be honest with you.... you have to be very careful they can easily be stepped on dropped while holding them . It only takes a second and the damage to the brain, neck, legs etc... to one of these little ones is permanent and devastating. If I had little children in my home knowing what I know having 3 Yorkies I would not get this breed of dog until my kids were older. When my son was small we had 2 beagles they are sturdy hearty dogs. Hope you do not take offense but I really think a heartier breed would be a better choice with the 2 small children. Good luck.

| I have to agree. Please consider a sturdier breed. Yorkies and very young children are not a good combo. Maybe a shihtzu or even a silky? I don't know as much about those breeds, but Yorkies are so easily injured. Good luck in your search.
