| A wonderful "retirement" home ... Morning ladies and gents! I'm hoping someone here might be able to offer me some direction. My mission: to find an older female yorkie to "retire" with my mom. Mom's currently going through chemotherapy for the third time in 20 years - she's a repeat survivor and isn't real computer savy (can't even turn one on), so has asked me to help her out. What she's interested in is an older female - who's just looking to spend days and nights "hanging out" and being loved. My parents live in South Louisiana (Lafayette) in a lovely home with a huge fenced backyard. There are two other dogs here, both older and calm and all recently had to say goodbye to their 18 year old friend, Raisin' Cane (yorkie). My mom's had two yorkies in the past - Raisin and one before named "Noggin", who lived to see 17 years. Both had wonderful lives and to this day remain loved - they are missed daily and always will be. Mom's heart is opened to love another but this time, I think we have a bit too much on our plates to start a small puppy. I have checked and will continue checking the rescues! My thanks for any direction ... Kev |

Of course, I'll have to buy her the right outfit. South Louisiana ... probably something "french" - beret or barette - hmm. Oh, I'm so excited. I haven't seen my Mom with such a genuine smile in a very long time. I'm going to owe Natalie the rest of my life. | |
