We do not allow threads begging for free puppies or looking for puppies at extreme reduced costs. Yorkies are generally from $500 on up, with most being in the $1000 to $1500 range. Please do not post looking for Yorkies below $500. If your budget for a Yorkie does not allow for $500 or more, you may want to look into Yorkie rescues or adoptions of older Yorkies, as they may be better suited to your price range. Feel free to PM sellers with an offer, but the public forum is not a place to beg or whine for a Yorkie, nor post looking for a Yorkie under $500.

this was copied and pasted from the YT rules on the for sale forum.

Good luck in your search! I also wanted to mention that alot of yorkies require alot of medical attention and if you're not prepared for that you might want to wait until you're stable enough. I had no clue what it would cost to maintain these little guys but I'm thankful that I can do it. One of my girls is almost at the vet every month because of her allergies and she has to see a ortho vet next week for her back knees. Most likely she will need surgery and this procedure is not cheap.

I lost a little girl over a year ago after heart surgery....cost $2500.00

Now I have a savings account just for their vet bills. I'm not saying that all yorkies are sick I'm just saying its a possibility and paying 500.00 for a puppy will most likely cost you way more in the long run. You can also rescue a yorkie for less but again be prepared for vet bills.

I know I just read where you posted asking for a free yorkie in the general yorkie discussion and you were told there not to do that. Sugar's mom was simply pointing out the rules to you. You could learn from her experience. And anyone of the other yt'rs telling you not to solicit a free puppy on the public forums. You MIGHT want to tone it down a bit before you get reported to the administrators by everyone you are having the audacity to ask for a free puppy from and then being angry they tell you that is against the rules. They aren't picking on you, there are RULES for a reason.

All Sugars Mom did was copy and paste the rules from YT. She noted that at the bottom of the thread

Breeders in this section arent usually giving away yorkies you just need to keep watching the General Discussion forum and the rescue forum. There was someone trying to find homes for some yorkies about 2 weeks ago but they ended up going to rescue

It would benefit you tremendously if you would read the posting rules for this forum prior to posting. Here is a link to the rules for posting Yorkies for Sale or Wanted: For Sale Post Rules - READ BEFORE POSTING A NEW THREAD

Hey,
I know what it's like not having a lot of money and wanting this breed so bad. I luckily got mine as a gift, after lots of begging and (literally begging some more) from my boyfriend for a one year gift. Just give it sometime, patience is hard, I know but your baby will come at the right now. I took the time inbetween to learn more about the breed, reading books, looking at the forums on YT (thanks ladies ) and saving up money. Also, I read on another post this morning, thanks to ladymom that having a savings account for just vet bills is in the best interest of you and the dog. I had not even thought of that for my lil girl. I also, would suggest, if you knew anybody in your area that breeds/or contact someone to talk to them and ask if you can help me a couple times of week. It helps relieve the wanting so badly and allows you to get some experience. Hope to talk to you some more. If you need someone to talk to PM me! I am here for you and so is everyone else.

P.S. Try petfinders they always have lots of dogs listed. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you. I knew that was going to be her answer and yes, I almost did report her to admin but deecided to just inform her of the rules but perhaps it should be reported. others on ALL her other threads asking for a free puppy have told her the same thing I have and I am sure it has been reported by at least one more person.

anne, these are admins words not mine. other people have reminded her of this rule in her many threads that read the same so why was I rude when I only copied and pasted the rules. And yes, she did ask for a free yorkie before she changed it.

Maybe you are right, Admin should look over the way the rule is written and revise it because imho that is very debatable!
I didn't see you has jumping down my throat...I was actually relieved to see you address it because I thought the other day that the comment was rather "snippy" and had wondered what I'd done to you personally to make you so angry. I wasn't trying to debate with you, just explain myself regarding the issues you brought up with my post.
If others choose to interpret it as rude, then that is their right, but my opinion stands. If admin pre-approves a rule or message about a heated topic, then I feel it's best to copy word for word what THEY have stated. It's official, it's to the point, and in this case offers all of the same advice I'd give anyway. The rule of not posting for cheap/free Yorkies was implemented to begin with because of so many complaints by members and breeders here who thought THAT was rude. So you can't please everyone, I guess.

Yes, while the ignore button might be the answer for those of us who find so many of the comments hateful, it is not the answer for those innocent new members who have no idea of the buzz saw they are walking into! What has happened to common decency and courtesy? I find it sadly lacking.
