The thing is, there are people who buy females to breed and just don't admit that. I'm not a breeder, but if I were, I would sell the tinier females with limited registration. It doesn't ensure that someone still won't breed her, but at least the puppies wouldn't be able to be AKC registered...which may be enough to deter people from breeding her. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, of course. I just worry about these tiny ones breeding....they are just too small.

No its just because I was holding her sideways when I took the picture and she was looking to the side. She is about like Mary poppins " perfect in every way" LOL

I agree with what you are saying, but thing is like you said even though you sale her with a limited reg what is to deter them from breeding her anyway. I leave it up to the new owners after I tell them of all the dangers. I mean with CKC being so lax in their registration process anyone who has a dog that looks like a Yorkie can about get it registered if they really want too. I just don't like telling someone who pays that much for something that they can't do what they want with it. I mean it's theirs after they buy it.

Other than placing on a limited registration, breeders also use written contracts. There are many ways to assure a tiny will not be bred. She could, for health sake, be kept till larger and then spayed before placing. Sorry, but I feel very strongly about the care and treatment of these beautiful little guys.

Spare the rude comments, but can I just say that I don't think these kinds of "opinions" are needed on a for sale thread. The OP isn't doing anything wrong, and he shouldn't have to defend his breeding practices in this section. If you have a personal problem with him, please PM or email him instead of pointing them out on this thread. That would be the polite thing to do.

Default I missed something

I was reading this post, as like most of us...we would love a sweet little girl. I think we are all in agreement that we all have opinions here. I have not seen anything rude of disrespectful about any postings.

Good luck with your decision.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I would just hate for someone to get this baby (or any small female, for that matter) and breed her. Let's face it, there are dishonest people out there who don't give a flip about whether or not breeding a small dog will put her in danger. They see a small female and think $$$$$$$. Next thing you know, they're advertising for "teacups". I can see why breeders put spay clauses in their contracts.

I wasn't pointing the finger at you specifically, please don't read it that way. I just think it's rude to talk about it in their for sale section. All of my puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract or on limited registration, so I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the OP, just think it would be better if it wasn't talked about here...

I understand your thoughts on the age of these little ones, however I know this one and see her everyday and play with her and She is ready to go now. I agree every small one is not ready to go at 10 or 11 weeks this BABY is almost 12 weeks old now. Every Puppy should be evaluated by the breeder to determine when it's ready to go as everyone is different just like our children. Some are ready to go to college right out of High School and some would be better off to wait a year or 2.

I want to make sure she gets a wonderful home and the new owner has the right to their own choices about Spaying. If you pay for something it's yours and NO ONE should be able to tell you what to do with your Things.

I realize that this is a for sale section and I realize as others have
pointed out that everyone has oppinions. With that said, I can't help but put my .02 cents in. Yes, it may be a for sale section but this site as a whole is about our love for Yorkies. I don't think anyone is being rude to the OP. I think they are expressing a concern that since this girl is not being sold with a limited registration that it is opening the doors for people to breed her.

Secondly, as quoted from her post "She will be too small to breed of course but if you purchase something it's yours, so who am I to tell you what to do what your things." Well, you as a breeder have a responsibility to see that this does not happen. I realize that this is not always easy to do but selling her with Limited Registration will certainly deter people from using her as a breeder. Don't you think?

You further mentioned that you just do not sell the small ones that say they want to breed, but as a business woman because whether one wants to admit it or not - breeding is to some degree if not totally about business, so as a business woman I'm sure you know that there are many scammers out there that will tell you they are not looking to breed when that is exactly what they are looking to do. Tiny, Teacup, Micro these are what are being sold and sold for big $$ so to think that someone won't lie and buy your girl to breed is being nieve.

In closing let me just say that from what I can remember anytime I've seen tiny girls for sale here on YT being sold by reputable breeders, they are almost always if not all the time sold on a limited registration. It's your job and your responsibility as a breeder to do whatever you can to ensure that a pup not intented to be bred is not bred and although selling with a limited is not full proof it's certainly a good start in doing so. Just my .02.

This was certainly not meant as an attack, and yes it was just my opinion, although shared by many responsible Yorkie owners/breeders who are very passionate about the breed.
Best of luck to you and I do hope this little girl will find a wonderful home with people that will love and care for her the way she deserves.

The only way to ensure that she will not be breed is to spay her and I just don't do that. I screen my buyers and even hough it may be a buisness I don't have but a few litters a year so I am very picky as to who gets her. It's not just the first with the money. That would make you a puppy mill and I am not that for sure. I don't have to have the money, I just do this for the fun of seeing a person fall in Love with the babies and give them a great home. I'm a pretty good judge of people, even though some do tell you lies. I have said all I'm gonna say about it. I have even given several Yorkies to elderly people who just needs companionship and that is my goal to spread the Love of the breed. Even though I'm not giving this one away.

Thank you, Elaine. You said exactly what I meant, but you said it much better than me. It was not my intention to be rude to the OP or to anyone else. But, one of the purposes of YT is to help educate people. I just hate to see people breeding these tiny dogs. Unfortunately, no matter how great you think you can judge people, there are many scammers out there and people who don't have the love and passion for the breed that many of us here do. I see nothing wrong with selling these pups with a spay/neuter contract or at least limited registration. That is responsible breeding, in my opinion.
