Getting Discouraged on my search.. Hello everyone, I am a newbie here on yorkie chat. Its been a couple days and already I have met some wonderful people. I need everyones help..please?? I am looking for a yorkie just like a lot of us are, I know. :-) But I am looking for one that I guess is more unusual? I have only seen a few breeders that have the look that I am looking for. I want a little girl who will be between 5-8 lbs. I want a nice flowing coat, with a baby doll face. I am looking for blk/gold with the blk streaks running through her face? and the total opposite blue/gold or platinum which has mostly blonde all over with very light and very little blue on back. Dont have to be a 12 week old puppy. A older puppy would be fine.I hope I dont sound crazy..but I have fallen in love with someone who is on this sites babies...none available right now..BUt that is the look I am looking for. Tried to explain the best I could. If I have to wait??? It will be tuff, but that is what I will have to do. Just hoping that maybe someone knew of puppies that may resemble what I explained?? Hope all that made sense? Lost a little girl I had bought from a BIG LIAR who ended up not being a loving breeder, but a money hungry broker. My heart is still with this little girl.If anyone can help...I would be so grateful.. :-)

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm so sorry you lost your baby...I'm afraid to ask what happened...Be patient while looking and maybe try to be a little lenient with your specifics ? It's very hard to tell from a puppy what he/she will look like grown up - the best thing to do is try to see both parents and go from there - but I wish you luck looking - it can take time - I remember feeling hopeless looking for a puppy then we found Cheri ....it was really worth the wait ...but it was hard walking away from the puppies that didn't "do" it for me... I felt like you do ....you have to be patient and you may just one day see the puppy you really want. Goo dluck |

puppy You are not going to like what I say, but here goes...you are so exact in what you want that I would not consider selling you a puppy...of course you did not ask to buy one of mine I realize. Unless you buy a full grown Yorkie you will always be taking a chance on how it turns out. Even the breeder you mentioned in your psost does not get that same puppy every time..and I don't even know who they are..I just moved from MD after 30 yrs of breeding there..I know many people, but they will not talk with you once you state what you want right now to the black streaks running through her face hair.. A breeder can tell you many points about a pup..I can get one the size and basic color a person wants, but much beyond that is asking too much..you want a healthy, female puppy, silk coat in the 5 to 8 pound range..that is not hard, but the other requirements are too much to ask in one Yorkie. What if my girl goes too light or her head gets golden blond and no black streaks, what if her head turns too silver or too dark? See my point..as a breeder I do not want people who are looking for one thing and one thing only..my baby may not live up to your fantasy and I would worry about her.

I appreciate your opinion..I really do... I love the yorkies I think they are awesome babies. I should have made it more clear to say , this is what I wanted to see in the parents? hopefully then get a baby with that look. I have heard breeders talk about different lines? wasnt sure if this was an unique bloodline or not...Also I had said I would be interested in an older pup,I dont need a 12 week old puppy like a lot of people want. I feel they adjust better when they are a little older. They have had more time with their mom and they feel a little more secure when going to a new home. My heart is so much into animals...I am an animal lover...I fall in love very easy. The little girl I had was only with me a little over a week..and You couldnt have taken her from me if you tried..I think she had this same look and yes I am trying to get her bacK? Not the right thing to do..But sometimes you cant help but feel like that. As far as anyone having to worry about one of their babies with me..that would not be true. Not to justify myself in any way..but I have taken animals off the street and worked with Lost Paws here in baltimore maryland. Its a rescue group. The last girl i found was a pit beagle who I named alli, which i took to the vet and had her paw put in a cast and took her back and forth to the vet until lost paws could place her in a new home which she now has. I am not doing to much with rescue anymore ONLY because I have a huge heart for animals and couldnt watch them leave once I had helped foster them. So as far as me having one of your babies? If you knew my heart and not the way I put my words..you would never have to worry. Sorry if it sounded like that...

puppy I know you are a caring pet lover...get on this breeders list and wait it out. Keep looking in the mean time. Did you contact Paddington in Laurel? How about Mary Trimble? She is the puppy list contact for our club in MD. Thimbletipyorkie@aol.com

Thank you so much Pat..Didnt mean to sound like I was going to a fashion show or anything. I know you love your babies and I had every right to hear how you felt about what I wrote. If you would never have told me...I would have never realized the way others were viewing me. Thank you again for the return quote...I feel better knowing you understand. Thanks for the tips also :-)

You may have a harder time finding the face you are looking for in a female that is up to 8 pounds in size. Most of the time I have found the larger the yorkie is in size the larger the features. Othet thing is the head- most of us try and breed for a clear gold head. You will have to work with a breeder who has heads in her lines that have not cleared up. Hope that they have bred a male and female with that type of head. Aske if they have had puppies from this mom and dad before and if the heads cleared up as adults. Sometimes you just have to wait and put a lot of time into finding the right one. You will - keep the faith. | |

Plus it will be hard to get that thumprint (up the face) with a silver silky coat. No one has mentioned this yet. If you have a thumprint usually the body coat is very dark and cottoney or dark (black) with silky or light blue and cotton coated. I do wish you luck. It just takes time, but don't give up. You will find the right one for you when you least expect it. T.

idea How about going to the Yorkie Speciality in Oct..it is near Dulles airport? You can call Mary (Thimbletip) and ask for time, directions etc...and tell her you want a puppy..ask her who you might talk to in Oct...locally. Plus, you are going to see many breeders from out of the area..you might talk to them ahead of time and they may bring pups with them. Good luck

YorkieRose has a great idea. This would allow you to see them (dogs and breeders) in person. Good luck! Let us know what happens. And Oct. will be here before you know it. T.

Just wanted to say thank you again. Mary emailed me back and I am now officially started in finding a baby...yahyyyyy!! And I feel great not scared. Thank you Pat and to everyone who has helped me and responded to my awfully worded letter..(sorry) She sent me information on the show and a list of breeders who will be there. I emailed all of them from Maryland and Virginia and will do a follow up call in a few days. Pat I didnt email you,,only because you know and no need to bother you with an email. But you had an awesome idea and I thank you for not giving up on me :-) I will keep all of you posted...

I just wanted to offer my support in your search and let you know that being that specific is a good thing in my book because you have owned a yorkie before and you will have the next one for over 15 years hopefully and it should be your dream puppy. I had a specific list like yours and it took me a good six months but I just brought my dream puppy home and she turned out to be everything I hoped and more because she has a fiesty personality but she is so good and well behaved. You can read my last post on the "babydoll face" thread to see what the breeders I ran into in my search said and how they reacted. Most were very helpful and if you find a breeder who likes what you like and breeds for that look then you can be pretty safe that you will get the look if they have bred several generations and are "holding" the look with few anomalies. These knowledgeable breeders are pretty good at telling what a puppy from their line will look like as an adult almost from birth and they can show you a chronology of pictures to prove it. And I assured every breeder I talked to that I would love unconditionally whatever puppy I got no matter what she ended up like as an adult! I was just including my entire list in my search so I would get at least SOME of the traits I prefer. I didn't expect ALL!! Anyway, pm me if you want further info. I would love to help you with your search for your dream puppy. She IS out there! Last edited by SoCalyorkiLvr; 07-25-2005 at 07:11 PM.
