WANTED: Yorkie or Pomeranian Puppies in the DC Area Title pretty much says it. I am looking for either a Pomeranian or Yorkshire Terrier(4 to 6 pound adult size) in the DC Area. They don't have to be registered. They really don't have to be full blooded. My wife and I are coming up on our one year aniversary and I would like to get her one. Also we are on a budget so it would have to be under $300. Thanks

Try United Yorkie Rescue, YTNR, SOSdogs or other small dog rescue sites. It is next to impossible to find a well bred, healthy pup at that price, but you may be able to give a good home to a small rescue dog that needs one for just a few hundred dollars. Also the site www.buyingapuppy.com gives good info on finding a reputable breeder, if you decide to try that route. Stay away from pet store pups.

Try the breed rescues for any breed you would consider. The Westie rescue is very active in this area.. Sophies Isle of York rescue is another one to check. You will not find a healthy Yorkie in this area for the price you have mentioned. A rescue would be such a good choice..they so deserve loving homes and it sounds like you are someone who could give that. If you and your wife both work long hours a Yorkie might not be the best choice as they are social animals that need their humans with them a lot. Also, they can be hard to house-train and that could be an issue to be considered.
