| TOP Yorkshire Female Pup Wanted I am looking for names of the TOP breeders for Yorkshire Terriers that provide quality pups. I'm looking for a female and willing to pay the price for the top of the line. I prefer a blue and gold color like the Yorkie book says. I want a dog to potentially show. Can anyone give me some names, and contact information for the TOP 5 breeders of Yorkshire terriers. I'm looking for a pup immediately, so please provide names of Breeders who have them available now or very shortly Please let me know. Thanks |

I would suggest that you go to some dog shows and look at the breed. Each breeder has thier own style- all are can be top lines and thier are different shades of gold and blue. You can then see which breeder has the look that you want. Contact the YTCA- and talk with the breeders. Just because you want a puppy and have the money right now may not mean that you will get your puppy at this time. Those top breeders will have a waiting list of other people who have contacted them and want puppies also. You will find that almost every show breeder has a waiting list for show puppies. You may have a litter of 5 puppies and not one has what is needed to win in the show ring. The breeders may want to get to know who you are. They will want to know are you going to show this puppy? Do you intend to show yourself or with a handler. They may have provisions in the contract that state you co-own the dog with them until the YT is a finished champion. Do you have other YT? It can be like a very detailed adoption process- with a lot of questions and you may need to provide references. Don't get discouraged. A top breeder may not have a TOP Show PUPPY available at this time. wnalegria

| pup Unfortunately, the truth is this..a top breeder will NEVER have a top quality show bitch for a novice. Do not take it personally,it is a fact of dog life. The best is kept..you may get lucky and get a decent show bitch to start out..a male will come much more easily. Good Luck |

| I do not show yorkies but if you educate yourself on the breed standard and look for puppies that are over 6 months of age, even become friends with a few show breeders or judges, you will discover what you are looking for and maybe even find it from a non-show breeder and start your own line. Biewer yorkies are new to this country and a great way for a novice to get started for that reason. Have you considered getting a Biewer. I think it would be easier to find a show quality Biewer than a traditional yorkie. They are beautiful too. Showing is very political and you sound like you have shown other breeds before. I am just curious about why you want to show? I am not being critical I just like to learn from new people and your reason might be one I haven't thought about. |

My personal interest. That's why I'm looking for the best then I won't need to deal with politics. The best will speak for itself. No I haven't considered Briewer Yorkies, tell me about them.

| They were derived from the yorkie and developed by a breeder in Germany in the 1980s. They are tri-colored....black, white and brown. They are gorgeous. There is a Biewer club in Germany and I think two here in the US. They are very expensive and rare at thhis point but several members here have imported them from Germany and litters are just coming available. Their tails are undocked. If you do an internet search you will find the breeders. YorkieRose, Whispersmom and Erin w/GusGus all own Biewers. |

Shame on you Yorkie Rose, I tried to be polite for once- and not be blunt like I usually am and then you up and go blunt and spit it out. This is no fun at all. Wnalegria PS. I did contact Betty and talked with her about breeding my female to one of her fella's. I sent her the pedigree and explained what I was looking for and asked her help in picking out the stud that would maybe fill in the gaps. Thanks fot your advice. I will just have to sit tight untli the time comes. Just hate the trip to Canada- Hope that all works out and she is in Michigan showing when the time comes and we can kill two birds with one stone and breed them at the show.

| bitch Politic's comes with the territory, doesn't matter if you have the best Yorkie ever bred..a novice goes up against the best breeder/handlers and pro handlers each time you walk in the ring..there are no show cuts. I bought several show potentials...then I got smart and took my best bitch and bred her to the best pedigree..that is how I got my first champion. Best wishes. I have a show quality Biewer, but no place to show her. I think the shows are out west. |

Well, regarding the Yorkie I guess I'll haveto find the bestest of females huh it will be worth it....I'm sure they are experienced people here that can tell me some names..... I got a name for a breeder from Canada....any word on Canadian breeders? Any advice on them? Registration formalities? So you only let go males for showing, why? it seems from what I saw there were alot more champion males then females? What males do you have available now? photos? I'm curious, I've always preferred females but I would sure like to see an awesome male. Regarding politics, it has its place, its purpose and can withstand for only so long.....No problem. As long as I know the rules of the game before I start the game, checkmate will be my last words.

| peds "Best Pedigree" means, the best pedigree for the bitch you are breeding. No one bloodline is perfect for every bitch. You look at your bitches pro's and con's and pick a male that will correct and compliment the potential offspring. Breeders do not need a houseful of males..2 or 3 quality studs are plenty..but you can never have too many bitches..you have friends who are waiting for anything you do not want. You can see my Biewer in my photo gallery. I have no desire to show her. There are no shows in Florida..I do not see the YTCA every allowing AKC to recognize them..well, not in my life time. Have you been attending dog shows on a regular basis to learn and observe? I am not talking about meeting breeders..that can take months, years to be trusted with a quality prospect. Canadian breeders like any other breeders ...there are wonderful ones and ones you better stay clear. |
