I have the snobbish cousin alive...at a holiday gathering with many of her country club friends, she went on and about her lavish, fun filled year among the rich and famous...then she made the fatal mistake of asking me why I was so quiet...I told her I was just thinking about the fun filled summer I spent with her and her family..and how she used to walk with me to the outhouse to pee, because I was afraid of the spiders and the chicken who would peck at your butt...that shut her up and reminded her of where she started...LOL
I think a lot of show people need to remember where they started at. so few are willing to help. I guess they are afraid we will 'taint' things. Anyway, she did better today. we didn't go to the park but we went to place that was paved. I had to trot with her to get her going but she took off. Now if I can get her to walk beside me so it doesn't look like I am pulling her that would be great. we are going to work one more time today, then she is going into oil. i hope every day will see an improvement. We have our class tomorrow night so I might let her rest tomorrow. Ms. Pat, you are such a wise woman. You just don't know how much I really appreciate all the help you have given me over time.

Don't worry. I am having to learn all over again after showing with the past pros from years ago. I still feel like a newbie, again. It is hard. I had the same problem with Easy - very tough when she was going through the teenage stage and same thing happened with Gigi. Now I have Gigi off with a handler and I am trying my hand with my next one - Prize (male). I did not have much time to work with him for the Marietta, GA show, due to work, but we went anyways. He was so funny. He would jump a mile high when he heard all the strange bangs in the arena and was shaking in the ring. We just went in and did the best we could this weekend. He got 2nd out of 2, but when the judge handed me the ribbon he stated that he loved my dog - he just needs some more experience in the ring. That gave me hope. In other words - give him some time and get him use to the ring and its noise and he will do well. We did make it fun and so I hope with more practice - Prize will do better as we go. An other words - don't give up.

Oh man, do I ever feel your nerves! I'm sure you remember my posts not too long ago. All scared to death and just sure we were going to trip and I was going to fall! Needless to say, that didn't happen. The more stressed I was, the more he felt it. Bingo was scared his first show because I was. He wanted to just jump up in my arms and cuddle instead of stack. He did much better his next show as I was much more comfortable. It's just getting over that first time in the ring. You'll do great, that I am sure of. Be confident in your puppy and make sure she knows how proud your are of her and can feel your love.

Two shows a day for two days. yes, it was UKC. I was scared because of the potty issue but they just laughed. heck, I was just plain ole scared over everything.

Talking Just had to Thank you!

Because I always have the most issues with the leads and new puppies, I keep an eye open for this post and any new ideas.
I just wanted to Thank everyone for the out-loud laughing at the computer this afternoon... Between the peeing and chicken's pecking at butts, I was hysterically laughing and you all made my day!
Thank you! (Got a lot of great advice too!)
