| Tail docking Hi everybody! Just curious about something. Are there yorkies being shown there in the States without their tails docked? Here in Spain you seem to come across more and more show yorkies with their full tail. Rubi and Jennie |

| I'm not seeing any shown with their tails undocked. The standard still calls for it here in the states so I guess until that is changed we'll show them docked. I personally think docked is a nice, neat appearance.

| I had thought about getting out my shield before I posted this, but not going to, because it is my opinion/feeling. They are being shown in other countries un docked. And with that being said, I have nothing against it. I think the dogs are just as beautiful. However, I am pro-dock. Some aren't, and that's ok. I like the fact that the breed is being kept the way it was intended back from our ancestors who developed and set the breed into play. I, personally do not feel that docking is a bad thing if done within the proper time slot after birth. I truly love the sillouette of a yorkie, for what it's breed standard here in the states calls for. There have been times in the past I was torn on this subject, but realized that I must stay true to my own feelings and am doing so. I prefer a docked tail to a medium length and would be upset if the mother club ever changed that part of the standard. Which I don't think they will. Ok...not going to duck. And on a last note am going to say that I think ALL yorkies are beautiful...if I didn't, I have no business being a fancier of them. |

| I very much prefer a docked tail. I won't ever buy a yorkie with an undocked tail

| Here in Germany we have to leave them undocked. I have one older bitch that is docked and I think it looks also nice, but I love the ones with tail too, it gives them an extra point of expression.

| can u show with foreign registry and undocked tail I purchased my little girl from a broker and she is originally from Hungary. she has full tail. she is almost three lbs at one year. she moves soooo well, very prancy, just like Westminister dogs. She has amazing posture too, head held up so proud. I think she could be in a show ring with some training on a lead. However, her papers are fEI and with that tail, and with the small stature, would it be a joke? I was told she was let go by the breeder because they don't like to show under five lbs. She has a very nice look about her. would post pic if i knew how. I LO VE ALL of your yorkies! I work very hard on her coat, keeping it in top shape with conditioners and using a ceramic brush and comb. |
